Veiled Meaning

May 1st, 2012 @ 12:48 pm by Mrs. Treasure

I love my wedding dress and I’m excited to wear it, but it’s not the thing I’m most excited to wear on my wedding day. I’m most excited to wear a veil. When I was a little girl, I was so excited for my First Communion so I could wear a veil, and I remember being so sad to take it off at the end of the day. My eight-year-old self couldn’t wait for my wedding day when I would wear a veil again.

So I’m using this opportunity to go big. Or at least go long. I want a floor-length veil, either cathedral- or chapel-length, without a blusher.

I think I want a plain, raw-edge veil…

…but I’m open to maybe doing something with lace on the edges.

What kind of veil is your favorite?

I think it depends on your dress, but I have always been a fine of the classic elegance of lace trimmed veils.

I love the lace on the edges, but I’m going for a fingertip or elbow lenght cause I really want to wear it the entire day.

I love the lace on the mantilla veils…. so elegant! I would have loved to have worn this kind but unfortunately it would not have gone with my dress at all. I went with an elbow length veil with a tiny touch of sparkle =)

I love mantilla veils, they are so gorgeous! Of course, all long veils are beautiful :)

I am doing a cathedral length veil adorned with swarovski crystals. I have a blusher as well on my veil. I love it!!!

I agree with you! I am more excited to wear my veil than my dress. I chose a long, mantilla.

i had a chapel length veil with minimal beading around the edges. originally i wasn’t going to get one with any beading or anything, but since my dress was as plain as they come, it gave it a little bit of something. the veil was the ONE thing i’ve known i’ve wanted for my wedding since forever. something about that veil(and i knew it had to be long, at least to the floor) just screamed wedding to me. i do love the mantilla veils, and sometimes i wish i had gotten one of those.

I like the raw edge veil. Btw, I totally remember wearing my veil for my Holy Communion too!

Woo veil twins! Haha I’m going raw edge cathedral length. I’m kinda in love with it and am looking for excuses to wear it other than the wedding. Haven’t come up with anything though. ;)

I’m doing a Cathedral length, raw edge veil too! With no blusher. I already got the veil, but am contemplating adding scattered swarovski crystals. I just love the look of a long veil! So dramatic & elegant :-)
