About Mrs. Treasure

An Early Wedding Gift

May 7th, 2012 @ 6:01 am by Mrs. Treasure

Mr. T’s dad travels a lot for work. This means that he collects hotel and airline points like they’re going out of style. He’s a Marriott guy and he surprised us by booking our hotel in Boston for us! The first night of our honeymoon will be spend lounging in the lap of luxury at the Marriott Long Wharf in Boston!

The hotel sits right on Boston Harbor. How close to Boston Harbor? Any closer and it would need to float.

Not too shabby, huh? The best part of this hotel is obviously the location. Being on the harbor is great, but it’s also within easy walking distance of Faneuil Hall, the Freedom Trail, and tons of restaurants. I can’t wait!

Are you staying somewhere special on your wedding night?

I’d definitely recommend doing a Duck Tour. It’s a great way to see the city and very educational.

Boston, you’re my home! <3 Got lots of love for my hometown, haha
But really, it is so beautiful! You’re going to have a great time, lots to do, right on the water – September is a great time of year here, too. :)

AWESOME! I love Boston. :) we will be spending our wedding night in the presidential suite at the Raleigh Marriott City Center. It’s bigger than our house! There is no way we would be able to justify the expense of paying $1000 a night (the regular rate), but I am an event planner and use the Marriott quite a bit for work. They offered me the presidential for $250 a night and I can’t wait to start our honeymoon there! My bridesmaids and I will also stay in the presidential the night before the wedding and get ready there (it will be awesome for pictures).

Enjoy your wedding night!!

Nope………we thought about it but as we’re leaving for the honeymoon the next morning we thought it would be a waste of money to pay for a night (short) in an Hotel..but i would have loved it, yes..

That’s so cool! The Freedom Trail is worth the cost for the tour. You don’t get the experience if you just walk around to the same sites.

I love Boston! If they are still in season – definitely take a whale watching boat tour!

Not sure where it will be, but my FI travels LOTS and has Hilton points way way up there. We’ve already used some for a weekend get-away to Niagara Falls (top floor suite, woo hoo!) and will spend some for accomodations for our OOT family, and will still have plenty left for some fancy honeymoon locale. They have an all-inclusive in Cairo that we could cover. That’s looking pretty interesting!

You’ll be right next to the North End too! I would recommend walking around there, people-watching, and enjoying some Italian food. :)

We’ll be staying in our new apartment together for the first time on our wedding night because it will be very special. Then we’re going to just honeymoon from our apartment and go touring since we live in the nation’s capital but have never done touristy things here.

We are getting married at a hotel so they have given us a complimentary hotel suite for the night which we are in love with. That hotel looks amazing though. My FSIL lives in Boston and raves about it!

I love Boston and lived there for a few years. The Marriott is a fun hotel and is in a great location. Did you notice that it was created to resemble a ship?! You will only be a hop, skip, and a jump from the North End. Great stop for a romantic dinner and cannolis at Mike’s Pastry shop. By the way, how did your engagement pix turn out at SMC?

Make sure you hit up Legal Seafood Long Wharf while you are there! It is right across the street from the Marriott and it is a pretty token Boston experience.

That’s a pretty sweet place in Boston to be, you’re right near Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, the Freeedom Trail… And I don’t care what anyone else says about Modern Pastries, definitely go to Mike’s to get the best cannoli outside of Italy. Enjoy the city!!! :)
