Irish Bells Are Ringing

Mr. Treasure and I are taking our engagement pictures this weekend. As you may remember, we met as students at Saint Mary’s College and Notre Dame. It’s very popular among alumni to get married on campus. We ultimately decided that we’d rather get married in Chicago but still wanted to commemorate the beginnings of our relationship, so we were thrilled when our photographer agreed to shoot our engagement pictures on campus in South Bend. (His girlfriend is a Domer!) As inspiration for places to shoot on campus, I turned to the weddings of our many friends who were married on campus.

It’ll be fun to get back on campus and take some beautiful photos in the place that gave birth to our relationship.

Where did you take your engagement pictures?

Looks like there are a ton of great places for photos there! We did ours where we had our first date. :)

We took our photos on my husband’s college campus! I went to school nearby and his is much more scenic and there was an awesome state park near by. I’m sure your photos will be awesome — I hear ND has a gorgeous campus.

I’m looking forward to seeing them! There are endless possibilities at Saint Mary’s and ND. I hope that the weather is beautiful!

So cute! I wanted to take pictures at the law school where Mr. P and I met, but it was too far given our time frame. I can’t wait to see your photos! Have fun taking them :)

We had our engagement pictures done at ND a few years ago too:) We both went there. Our photographer has a few of them on his blog (including two of my very favorites- in front of Memorial Door of the Basilica and at the Grotto, both of which we used in our wedding programs).

My first football game was a Notre Dame game, and I’ve been hooked on the team and the campus ever since. FI is also a huge fan, and we only live 20 minutes from campus… so we’re highly considering having our photos taken there as well. I can’t wait to see yours!

My friends who met at U of Michigan got married out here in Chicago where they live, but took their engagement photos on campus–very similar to you! FI and I took our engagement photos at the Morton Arboretum; it’s where we had our first “official” date so it had special meaning to us.

We took our engagement photos on campus (and we got married in the Basilica, so obviously we took our wedding photos on campus too!). Some of our favorite spots were under the Howard arches (my dorm), the Sorin porch (my husband’s dorm), and the bench by the lake where we used to hang out after parietals. I’ve seen some beautiful pictures under the Lyons arch, the Bond steps, and by the new law building, and if the weather doesn’t cooperate I’ve seen great shots in the Main Building, Mendoza, and Bond’s library.

Just a heads up for you though–this weekend is move-out weekend, so parts of campus are going to be really crowded, and you might have a hard time finding parking. Good luck!

We also took our engagement photos at our college campus! It was so much to go back to the place where we first met! :) I can’t wait to see how your photos turn out.
