After our family pictures were over, it was time to head to the conservatory where the guests were beginning a “cocktail hour” of sorts. Mr. Funnel Cake and I piled all my gown’s ruffles into the car and were on our way, obviously in good spirits.
Mama Funnel Cake looked the happiest I’ve ever seen her driving her Ford!
One thing was sure, now that I had my groom with me, I didn’t want to let him go! I mean, look how cute he is!
We rolled up to the Franklin Park Conservatory and Mama Funnel Cake positioned the car close to the entrance because she was worried about me getting my dress dirty. But, as luck goes, my flowers soaked my bouquet dressing and I had already gotten a nice big purple stain on the front of my dress. Nice move, FC!
The conservatory was as beautiful as it is every day. I was excited to have all the guests visit and enjoy it for the reception.
With so much greenery around, there was very little “dressing up” we had to do for the reception room.
Guests were welcome to explore the conservatory on their own, free of charge because of the wedding.
Luckily for the guests, the conservatory was also very, very warm inside the palm house. They wouldn’t need to worry about wearing coats or jackets under all that morning sun!
But Mr. Funnel Cake and I were not heading into the reception quite yet…we gathered our bridal party and headed to take some photos before our grand entrance.
