Mrs. Bracelet's Picture
Miss Bracelet, Frankfurt, Germany/Rapid City, SD Age and Occupation: 26, Post-Graduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Electrical Engineering Student/ Ex-Navy Cal Tech Engagement Date: May 11, 2011 Wedding Date: September 2012 Venue: Schloss Heiligenberg/ Spearfish Canyon Lodge About Me: I'm a half-American from Germany who fell in love with a wonderful guy from Montana. We met in Japan and have been in a LDR for most of our relationship. I love organizing so much that it could be my middle name (Post-Its, anyone?). I have a serious addiction to paper products and milk chocolate. My fiancé totally gets my tomboy-princess-combo personality and will bring me chocolate when I need a pick-me-up. After a legal ceremony in Germany, we're planning a down-to-earth (semi-destination) wedding with our friends and family in the US.
About Mrs. Bracelet

Lately I’ve been thinking about my necklace options for the day of the wedding. Considering my taste in jewelry and what I think will work with my dress, I’ve come up with the following ideas:

Completing the Outfit: Necklace : wedding accessories germany jewelry rapid city Necklac01

{personal image}

However, I don’t own any necklaces that look like the ones I’ve sketched. I’ve looked online at the jewelry offered at Macy’s, Kays, Zales, Dogeared etc., and not fallen in love with a single one. I don’t want to spend $100 or more on a necklace that “I think will work” and that I won’t wear much after the wedding.

I think I might just go without a necklace and instead have gorgeous earrings and a pretty bracelet. I have ideas for earrings and I just bought an amazing bracelet (more on that later).

Have you considered not wearing a necklace?

Have you considered Etsy? They’ve got a great selection of not only handmade stuff, but some really fantastic vintage finds. And the prices are normally amazing.
I bought all of my wedding jewelry (and gifts for my bridesmaids!) throgh Luxe Deluxe on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/luxedeluxe

I’m seriously considering no necklace – my neck is a tad larger than normal, so I usually like to wear necklaces loose. However, FI bought me a triple strand of pearls for Christmas. But I can’t get an extender to work on them. So, I’m not sure I will be wearing a necklace. Its either pearls or nothing.

there is something so beautiful about a woman’s neckline in a sweetheart type dress.. idk it screams feminine to me. I won’t be wearing a necklace for that reason and am opting for a statement bracelet instead.

I never wear necklaces because they make me uncomfortable. I think if you have a veil and awesome earrings a necklace can be overkill on some people. Do you own anything or have any friends who own anything similar to what you are thinking about that you could try on with your earrings and veil and see what you think?

I wasn’t going to wear a necklace as the dress has detail / I had long blingy earrings and amazing bracelets. But on the day I was surprised with a beautiful necklace from my FI (its tradition in Denmark to give a “morning present” and eventhough we hadn’t talked about it I had gotten him something and surprise for me – I got something as well. So in the end I did end up with wearing a necklace though not planned

I didn’t plan to wear a necklace since my dress had a lot of beading up near my neck, but for our “dating anniversary” a few months before the wedding, the Mr. gifted me a diamond pendant so I added it onto the ensemble at the last minute.

I knew I wanted a necklace over a bracelet because I was afraid the bracelet would catch on my dress, but finding a necklace without trying it on with my dress was so hard. Mr. P ended up gifting me a necklace on our wedding day, so I went with that :)

I was tossing back and forth the idea of a necklace… A statement piece. I’m a huge fan of how they look but it just won’t go with my “look” nor am I a huge accessory girl; I hardly ever wear earrings or bracelets (I do have a wrist tattoo) and I wear a simple kitty necklace my grandma gave me… I still haven’t given up 100% on my necklace idea but I think I’ll end up “bare chested” if you will.

Definitely no necklace but instead wear earrings. The neckline of your dress already speaks for itself =)

I had the hardest time finding a necklace that I liked, and then my mom offered me one of hers that was perfect!

I am skipping the necklace, and instead opting for a bracelet and earrings!
My dress has a very intricate belt, and I don’t want my look to be too “busy”, so I thought going bare-neck would be a great way to keep things simple!

I’m not wearing a necklace. Instead, I’m going to do some dangly earrings.

I’m going for a big huge necklace, but a small bracelet and probably no earrings. :)

I never wear necklaces but on my wedding day I sure as heck will! :) I actually found an intricate pearl necklace that matched my engagement ring (a pearl also) but I think I’d rather wear a dainty little pearl necklace.

I think the “barely there” look is so sweet and sexy at the same time! :)

I think your neckline is pretty enough by itself that you could easily forgo a necklace! I’m doing that myself — big sparkly earrings and no necklace. :)

I made my own necklace and earrings because I couldn’t find anything that matched what I imagined. I made an asymetrical pearl necklace with a red clay rose on silver filigree as the pendant part. I also hung a skeleton key pendant from the clasp to have weight on it and make it stay back there. The earrings are fish hooks that have a little skeleton key pendant hanging on a loop, a pearl on one side, and a little red clay rose on the other. I plan to post them in the DIY section today :)

I wasn’t planning on wearing anything unless it was a chunky statement piece but couldn’t find anything on Etsy or Ebay or anywhere that I just “couldn’t live without”…I was about ready to give up and just go with a gorgeous pair of blingy earrings. A few weekends ago, I went to our local flea and looked at this booth with vintage jewelry and found the PERFECT pearl necklace!! I am pretty happy with my find! I love your neckline btw! I LOVE this new off the shoulder trend! Too bad I already bought my dress! ;)
