Funneling the Love: Tattoos for Everyone

OK, this next one is little strange. At some point during the wedding planning, I was thinking “What are unique ways I can brand our wedding?” and for some bizarre reason I came up with the idea of making temporary tattoos with our (KH)² logo.

For a long time, I sat on this idea because I was afraid if I told Mr. Funnel Cake he would think I’d completely lost it with wedding planning. But as the wedding drew closer I decided I wanted to do it for real, so I asked him about it. Yes, he thought I was weird, but he didn’t mind if we had silly fake tattoos at our reception. Whatever pleases the bride! ;)

I quickly designed a 1.5″ square tattoo and ordered 200 clear tattoos from Tattoo Manufacturing for $43 with a discount. I really hoped that it wasn’t a scam and that my credit card information would be OK! The tattoos arrived safe and sound. Each tat had a clear cover and instructions on the backside.

We decided these were best distributed on the opening table with the favours, so I made a small sign to go on the bowl Mama Funnel Cake provided. You can bet she thought this was a weird idea, but it turns out the guests loved the tattoos!

The kids at the reception especially enjoyed the tattoos, and some of my little relatives had arms plastered full of them. I was so happy they were a hit! Either that, or all my friends and family were patronizing me so I didn’t feel bad on my wedding day. ;)

Mr. Funnel Cake and I didn’t have time to try out the tattoos on the big day, but we did the next morning before heading out to spend time with family.

I’m really happy I decided to go with my gut and make my idea happen!

Did you have any crazy ideas you made a reality for your wedding?

This idea is sooo awesome.. Mr. Inkpusha is a tattoo artist and we wanted to incorporate that concept into our wedding somehow but were afraid that our guests would think it was weird. Glad to see your guests enjoyed it! Thanks for the site to get temporary tattoos..

@aj: Glad you ordered some! They’re so much fun! :)

@Kat: That’s awesome they were related to tattoos you have! Makes it even more personal. :) I just wanted to brand my guests. ;)

@Ms Rocky Point: Yay! Glad to help out!@

Miss Bracelet: I figured we would leave the tattoos in the bowl and guests would figure out how to use them when/how they wanted. They could take them home as a “souvenir” or find some water and a towel or napkin nearby. I am not even sure if they did them in the bathroom, but I imagine lots of people used water glasses and their napkins to apply them!

@Mrs. Inkpusha: ooh you should definitely do some!

    Hi everybody!
Mrs. Funnel Cake, I’m on the marketing team at Tattoo Manufacturing and I LOVE seeing all of your awesome pictures! I’m glad the tattoos were a hit!

We’re seeing a lot of brides ordering temporary tattoos as funky wedding favors. I wrote a a post on our blog about tattoos at weddings:
    http://blog.tattoosales.com/2012/02/02/temporary-tattoos-for-weddings/

All of our tattoos are made in the USA (in Tucson, AZ) with nontoxic, FDA-approved inks.

Thanks for showing off your tattoo idea, and congrats!

Tattoos are really great. I love colorful star tattoos. Colors actually enhance their beauty. Moreover, they signify something positive and hence it is good to have them.

I LOVE this idea but wanted some variety, and then I found this DIY temporary tattoo paper on amazon! http://amzn.com/B0043WJ3OA

It look like you just design (remember to flip the image)and print on inkjet paper! I am ridiculously excited to start dig in!
