Mrs. Mink's Picture
Mrs. Mink, Charlottesville, Virginia Age and Occupation: 34, College Administrator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 40, Craft Beer Consultant Engagement Date: November 26, 2010 Wedding Date: June 2012 Venue: Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards About Me: I left a pre-war brownstone in Boston six years ago to live in a funky, Southern city where Thomas Jefferson, Dave Matthews, and urban chicken keepers enjoy equal social standing. I still love my Patriots and Red Sox, but have fallen in love with Virginia. I work in education and specialize in integrating technology into my work to improve the student experience. I’m a diehard blogger, animal lover, jamband follower, and DIYer. I paint to relax and have transferred by energy from home projects to wedding projects in recent months. When Mr. Mink and I started talking about marriage, we knew our wedding would be outdoors, that my golden retriever would be part of the day, and that the music would be fantastic. We’ve taken a few risks during our planning process and we’ve been enjoying the process immensely!

Mr. & Mrs. Mink…After the Rain

June 11th, 2012 @ 5:44 pm by Mrs. Mink

Hello, hive!  I wrote my last post 10 days ago in tears over the horrible weather that was affecting much of the mid-Atlantic on our wedding day. Though I’m usually an optimist, I was convinced we would be completely rained out pretty early in the week. Everyone from Mr. Mink to our venue staff to people posting online was convinced that the rain would hold off.

The rain did not hold off. It was really bad at times. I’ll share the pictures to prove it in the coming days. However, the perk of enduring a severe storm is the amazing sky that follows.

Mr. and Mrs. Mink...After the Rain : wedding charlottesville recap 547522 547522_

If you believe Mr. Shakespeare’s idea that all’s well that ends well, then it was a perfect day. I’m so happy to be back to tell you all about it!

As a fellow Virginia bride, your updates are always my favorite. I was in DC that day and kept checking the radar to see if the rain would miss Cville- hope that’s not too crazy!
Your photo is beautiful, can’t wait for more. Congrats Mrs. Mink :)

I KNEW this would work out in the end! I felt so bad when I read your morning-of post. It broke my heart to read how upset you were about the rain. :( .

But: This is an amazing photo. There are tons more to come, I’m sure!

That is seriously stunning! Can’t wait to see more pics – even the rainy ones! It rained on our day too, but some of my favorite of the pics I have seen so far involve umbrellas :)
