Under Where?

June 13th, 2012 @ 11:45 am by Mrs. Dragon

I’m talkin’ ’bout underwear, so…I think this should happen:

Under Where? : wedding brockville undergarments Tumblr 0207 tumblr_0207

OK! So.

In my everyday life, I’m a comfy undies girl. I like things that don’t bunch, ride, irritate, or otherwise encroach on my comfort. On the bra side of things, I kind of lost track of my size after I lost weight and gained a bit back. Bandeaus are my friend!

My usual under-the-clothes situation is something like so:

Under Where? : wedding brockville undergarments C600x38 Every day

American Eagle outfitters bra / American Eagle outfitters boyshorts

That won’t quite fly for my wedding day, as confirmed by my seamstress who eyed me up in my dress and noted, “You’re going to want to get a bra. A good bra.”

All right, I thought, maybe I can use my undies for my something blue!

Nooope. I bought a pretty royal blue bra, but it turns out my dress is kinda sheer. Not enough that you can see right through it, but enough that I need to stick with nude colours underneath.

La Senza bra / La Senza Brazilian (pretend it’s the same colour as the bra)

Pretty boring, huh? But it works and looks fine under the dress, so I guess that’s all that matters. And now if anyone asks what my something blue is, I won’t have to flash ‘em!

Were your wedding underthings pretty or practical?

Ha.. I love this topic. I actually flashed my friends while we were getting ready. I had my very pale blue panties on that said “just married” in sequins. Now I guess I shouldn’t have been wearing them before the wedding but I figured when I changed out of my formal dress and into a fun cotton dress it would be appropriate. However, I never changed and at the end of the night my husband fell asleep before he could even help with the hook of my dress, I called my bridesmaid on another floor to come help. :)
the bra was boring ivory.

I was glad I had bought cute white boy short underwear and a strapless corset like bra when I realized I was going to be putting my dress on in front of about 10 people. My Mom definitely made me blush by commenting on my “sexy” undies and bra. In my opinion they were quite boring… But they were very comfortable!

I just wore a plain boring strapless bra, and now I can’t even remember if I had on cute undies or not. I did buy cute stuff for the wedding night, but I think on the day of, function might have trumped pretty.

Well I’m sorry your something blue undies didn’t work out BUT if they hadn’t you wouldn’t have created this blog entry and gave me the idea for my something blue! I am not a blue fan at all. The only blue I own is my undies. So I dreaded sporting the color in my wedding attire. What a PERFECT way to do the something blue. I’m going with the blue undies! Thank you for the idea!

Luckily my dress is super easy to get into on my own so I won’t be flashing anyone! :D

I love the idea for blue underthings! I’m sorry it didn’t work out. Where are you planning on incorporating your something blue?

I definitely went practical with my underthings, luckily my undies didn’t show through my dress so I could wear something pretty blue & lacy :)

Since my dress had cups built in, I was bra-free and had some lacy white underwear. Let me tell you how strange it was to be off to the church (where I was getting changed into my dress) with just a pair of white lacy undies, my pretty shoes, and a garter belt in my hands!!!! Haha.

The something blue undies are so pretty! Does the light blue show through your dress?

I haven’t thought about undies yet!! I probably need to get on that, at least finding a suitable strapless bra because my fitting is in July!! I’m with you, I would much rather be comfy then fidgeting all day due to frilly undergarments that were misbehaving!

My something blue was my shoes.
I didn’t wear a bra with my dress – didn’t need one with all the boning and laces holding me in. On the bottom I had a Hanky Panky retro thong. I put on a split slip over it, though, so no one but my hubby saw since I snuck that off before he unlaced me. :)
Girls – those hanky panky thongs – so worth $20. I bought 5 more the next week. They are super comfy (just super comfy, not even ‘for a thong’) and super sexy all lacey. They make light blue ones and white ones with “Bride-to-be” “Bride” or “I Do” on them. I got my MOH one that said “Maid of Honor” in crystals on it (that she didn’t wear…).

@priyathescientist: I have a brooch from my grandmother’s jewelry drawer that I’m going to incorporate somehow, and I still have yet to buy my shoes so I’m thinking I’ll try to find some with blue accents!
@Bias: Heh! I can imagine that’d feel a little racy. ;)
@lululime: I had to go with boring beige! My dress is too sheer. :)

My bra is just a plain ol’ strapless bra… Very practical. But my MOH bought me the cutest little blue and white “bride” undies. Not very practical, but so awesome!

Oooh, I love that blue set! So hot. :)

I had so many layers and petticoats on that it was fine for me to wear blue undies with white polka dots (that uh… the Mr. actually gifted to me) and I wore them with my gladrags because this girl is all about comfort. For the bra I wore a semi-ill fitting old corset bra that my sister bought for her wedding. It did the job!

The Mr. was excited about the corset because I never wore it for him before… and before um… evening activities, I swapped the gladrags undies out for a bridal thong from Victoria Secret that my Mama picked up for free for me. Gladrags aren’t so sexy… but I’m glad I wore them all day!
