About Mrs. Funnel Cake

Funneling the Love: The Perfect Ending

June 15th, 2012 @ 5:56 am by

When we finished our final wedding shoot with Tim, we dropped him back at his hotel and headed to our own hotel for the night. We rented a nice room at the Hyatt for Mr. Funnel Cake to use the night before the wedding and for us to share the next day, because everyone deserves a little privacy on their wedding night!

It was sort of funny driving…do you remember Mama Funnel Cake insisting we drive in her gianormous full-size van to the church so that my wedding dress wouldn’t get ruined? Well, she lent us her very small Ford Escort after the reception to drive Tim around and get to and from our hotel by ourselves. Needless to say, it was a bit tight cramming my fluffy dress, hoop skirt and extra petticoat in and out of the two-door car without closing the door on some fabric.

The brothers who were late to their usher duties also had a secret; Brother C was actually laughing while he scraped the car because he had just broken the handle off the car window, with the window still partly rolled down! So the whole time driving around in the cold Columbus weather, we had an open window in the car. Brrrr.

At the hotel, Mr. Funnel Cake helped me out of my corseted cupcake dress after wearing it for an incredible twelve hours, and wouldn’t you know it, it was like a vacuum on my stomach was released. Suddenly I was STARVING.

I gave Mr. Funnel Cake some incredible puppy dog eyes and he asked me the question I was dying to hear: “Do you want to go to Wendy’s?” he sighed.

YES!!!!

Mr. Funnel Cake had refused to take me to Wendy’s in my wedding dress during our break earlier that day, but all this girl wanted to do was go enjoy her favorite American fast food! We headed to Wendy’s and I ordered a small fry, five piece chicken nuggets, small chili and frosty (which only comes in “chocolate” if you ask this Wendy’s purist!).

It sounds a little crazy, but this was the BEST food I ate the entire day. It tasted so, SO good. Really hit the spot. And Mr. Funnel Cake just sighed some more as I dipped my fries and chicken nuggets in my frosty. Mmmm! (He thinks that’s so gross!)

The OSU Buckeyes game was playing on the television as well, and at the last moment we were able to score and win the game in typical last-minute Buckeye style. My team won, I was enjoying a frosty and I got married that day. It was really the best day ever!

Now that I’ve told you all about Funnel Cake wedding, I’m sad to say recaps are over. But don’t worry, I have a few more surprises to share with the hive and I’ll see if I can pull together a budget breakdown at some point. So hang tight until next time!

Mr. Cannon asked me if I wanted vanilla or chocolate the other day and I was like, “Uh, regular?” What is with the vanilla Frosty?

The vanilla frosty and complicated new flavors make me mad. It’s only “FROSTY” flavor!! Perfect ending to a wedding day, in my opinion. :)

OMG I LOVE WENDY’S!!! Junior cheeseburger deluxe (no pickles) with a sour cream and chives baked potato. That was my jam back in high school because those were both on the 99 cent menu. Best dinner $2 can buy! When I lived in Europe for a year, I missed Wendy’s soooo much! (And Taco Bell, truth be told. A girl needs her crunchwrap supremes!)

Love it! FI and I were watching the Lily/Marshall wedding episode of HIMYM last night (we’re noobs to the show, what can I say?) and when they ended up at WienerBurger after the reception we just looked at each other and nodded. That’ll be us! Only we’ll be at Taco Bell :)

French fries must be dipped in the frosty. And only the real chocolate one. Mmm now I want Wendy’s.

You should NEVER have to specify “chocolate” when you order a Frosty. Who wants a vanilla Frosty? Just have a shake.
:shakes head:

I think pictures of you guys at Wendy’s in your wedding garb would have been awesome :)

Wendy’s frys dipped into their frosty is the best thing ever! Never tried the chicken nugget dipped, but I’m sure its tasty too!

That’d be a great way to end the day! Oh, and I’m allergic to chocolate, so I appreciate the vanilla frosty. I just thought I’d play devil’s advocate momentarily. :)

Yeah, vanilla is NOT frosty. It’s just ice cream in a cup.
But what a great ending to a wonderful day!
(And now I’m hungry. Lunch time!)

This is the best ending to any wedding day, ever.

The only way it would have been better is if you had still been in your dress :)

This reminds of How I Met Your Mother, where Lily and Marshall hadn’t eaten a thing, so on their way to the airport (after their wedding), they stopped by a fast food joint to eat. It was adorable, because that was the first time Marshall realized that Lily was his WIFE.

I just love that you ate Wendys on your wedding night! Had we been close to fast food I bet we would have done the same :)
