When we sent out our save the dates I used whatever permanent postage stamps Mr. Dragon managed to pick up, which happened to be ones featuring the Canadarm and other fun Canadian things. We didn’t really care that much about pretty stamps, to be honest.
I hadn’t really considered what to do for our wedding postage. There didn’t seem to be many options…

I was all set to pay tribute to the Canadarm again when Mr. Dragon’s step-mom intervened. She works for Canada Post, and let us know about Picture Postage, a service that lets you put your own image on a permanent stamp. She was pretty psyched about it and offered to hook us up, so of course we said yes!
I wasn’t sure if I wanted stamps with our faces on them, or something a bit more abstract but still representative of us, but in the end we decided on one of our engagement photos. FSMIL Dragon put the order in, and a week or two later we had these:

She also ordered us a keepsake sheet, which has a large photo of the stamp on top:

I wasn’t really thinking when I gave her the numbers for what we’d need, and only factored in one stamp per envelope. Of course our invitations were over the standard weight, so each invitation required two stamps. Luckily, FSMIL Dragon ordered extras, and by the time I was done stamping everything I had one stamp left over. Phew!
Here’s a little preview of how they look on our RSVP envelopes:

Mr. Dragon, upon hearing the stamps were in, asked me if we looked like the Queen, hence the title of this post. I think they’re really cute! Now I just have to finish up my last few envelopes, then take these suckers to the post office for hand cancellation and manual sorting (gulp).
