MORE Dress Indecision?!

July 16th, 2012 @ 11:12 am by Mrs. Dragon

Hi, I’m Miss Dragon and I’m horrible at making decisions.

I had to try on my veil with my dress in order to know if I liked them together. So, out came the dress, which I’ve been avoiding since the last time I tried it on and felt terrible. Two things to note: I bought a handheld steamer and de-wrinkled the dress prior to trying it on, and my weight-loss efforts have netted me zero weight loss and a bit of weight gain, namely because I really haven’t tried, at all.

Bizarrely, the combination of those two things made me really like my dress this time around!

The cats are very excited that the door to the forbidden room is open.

It just…fit. Perfectly. The waist didn’t look horrible, the back didn’t gap anymore, there were no issues with the bust. I actually felt excited looking in the mirror with my dress and veil on!

But, I thought I should try it on with the lace top too, because I liked it so much last time.

But this time, with the lace top and the veil, I felt kinda dumpy and big. It felt like too much draping, too much flowing, not enough shape.

So now I’m back to square one. I’m leaning toward the dress, just the dress—no lace top, no sash, just jewelry and my veil to make things shine. Maybe a fuzzy cardigan for if it gets chilly later on in the day. Simple.

But everyone loved the lace top the first time around (even me!), so I’m willing to hear opinions!

And while I was playing dress-up, I figured I should show you guys the rehearsal dress you all loved, this time on me and not the hanger:

Super short!! I ordered some yellow tights, but if it’s too hot for that I’m going to have to find a slip.

Is anyone else indecisive like me? How do you know if you’ve made the right choice?

Funny, I absolutley love the dress without the lace top now! The dress is stunning on you in itself & the jewlery you wear & veil will compliment it beautifully. LOVE the rehearsl dress, no yellow tights! <3

I agree! I loved it with the lace top before, but it’s too much with the veil. It looks beautiful all by itself with the veil!

I like it with the lace top but I don’t love the top with the veil, I think it looks better with just the veil and not the top.

I love the dress, and I vote no on the lace top! You look gorgeous!

I definitely don’t think you need the lace top at all!

I also vote no on the lace top. Maybe wear it later in the night if its chilly, without the veil. I love the veil and top separately, just not together.

I love love love the rehearsal dress!

And I hate to say it, but I don’t like the lace top. At all. It looks really matronly to me… but the dress and veil look so great together! I think your idea of a cardigan would be a much better idea.

I’m going to join the chorus of people saying no to the lace top. It’s too much with the veil. If you want to wear something else, I’d suggest a shrug of some sort. Maybe a cardigan a la the Duchess of Cambridge. http://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,20395222_20486017,00.html
I also think you should go with a statement necklace.

LOVE the rehearsal dress! As for the wedding dress as much as I loved the lace top with it before I have to agree with you and say drop the top and just go with the dress and veil! I don’t know if its the veil that is throwing me off or what because I really really loved the lace top with it the first time.

Maybe you can do the lace top later in the night when you take the veil off? just food for thought :)

Both dresses are so beautiful! I think your wedding dress looks great without the lace top, it looks like too much with the full veil.

Your instincts are right! I also liked the lace top last time, but seeing it all together, it just doesn’t flow. I think the dress, by itself, with the veil and your jewelry is perfect. That first picture made me say “wow”!

Definitely a VETO for the lace top. It looks much nicer without it.

Just go with the dress. Something about it just screams “you.” I mean as much as I can know “you” from the internetz. It’s very natural, earthy, bohemian, and is very effortless bride. But, when you add the lace top it just looks like a white outfit, in my opinion. You don’t need it- it looks great on it’s own. And, love love the rehearsal dinner dress! Really cute.

Dress by it self (w/ veil) – it looks really beautiful

Funny how much a veil makes a difference! :D I’m glad everyone seems to be voting the same way — makes it so much easier to decide!

I loved the lace top with the dress before, but am now not-so-keen on it when you have your veil on. Maybe you could go for 2 looks? Wear the veil and no lace for the ceremony….and when you take the veil off, put the lace top on. Your dress alone with the veil is STUNNING. I wouldn’t push it over the top with the lace top as well….you know what they say: KISS!!!! (Keep It Simple Stupid)

Oooh, just went back to the old pictures. You should definitely wear that layered pearl necklace you have on in the old post. I love that!
