Miss Cauldron, New York City/Austin Age and Occupation: 33, Human Resources Fiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Technology Engagement Date: October 8, 2011 Wedding Date: September 2012 Venue: Pecan Grove at the Salt Lick About Me: I grew up in the Lone Star State, but moved to NYC after college to get a taste of the Big Apple, and never left. I love baking, yoga, Mr. C, and sunshine (not necessarily in that order)! Mr. C and I met on Match.com back in 2007, and our second date was at a Texas barbecue restaurant in Manhattan. It’s only fitting that after almost five years together, we are getting married at an iconic Texas barbecue joint. (Shiner Bock and brisket, anyone?) I’m proud of the life we have built together around our love for each other, Mr. C’s crazy dog Bosley, and fun sailing adventures on our boat, and I’m looking forward to celebrating our marriage at one seriously awesome party in September.

Wedding Words…

July 26th, 2012 @ 8:26 am by Mrs. Cauldron

I stumbled on this adorable Ogden Nash poem while browsing for ceremony readings:

“I Do, I Will, I Have” – Ogden Nash

How wise I am to have instructed the butler to instruct the first footman

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent to instruct the second footman to instruct the doorman to order my

Wedding Words... :  wedding austin ceremony readings Indent carriage;

I am about to volunteer a definition of marriage.

Just as I know that there are two Hagens, Walter and Copen,

I know that marriage is a legal and religious alliance entered into by a

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent man who can’t sleep with the window shut and a woman who can’t

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent sleep with the window open.

Moreover, just as I am unsure of the difference between flora and fauna

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent and flotsam and jetsam,

I am quite sure that marriage is the alliance of two people one of whom

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent never remembers birthdays and the other never forgetsam,

And he refuses to believe there is a leak in the water pipe or the gas pipe

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent and she is convinced she is about to asphyxiate or drown,

And she says Quick get up and get my hairbrushes off the windowsill,

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent it’s raining in, and he replies Oh they’re all right, it’s only raining

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent straight down.

That is why marriage is so much more interesting than divorce,

Because it’s the only known example of the happy meeting of the

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent immovable object and the irresistible force.

So I hope husbands and wives will continue to debate and combat over

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent everything debatable and combatable,

Because I believe a little incompatibility is the spice of life, particularly if

Wedding Words... : wedding austin ceremony readings Indent he has income and she is pattable.

Poem found at aenet.com

The “happy meeting of the immovable object and the irresistible force”! I love it. Plus, it’s short and sweet, which is a must. We’ll have to see if it makes the final cut.

How did you find your ceremony readings?

This is adorable. I’ve heard the bit about “if he has income and she is pattable” before, but never the whole thing.

This is such a great ceremony reading Miss C! There is so much truth behind it… Mr. Coyote and I are complete opposites, but it keeps us on our toes and we are constantly learning from each other!

this is great! I’ve never heard it before, but is sums it up well, without being too sappy.
