Miss Cauldron, New York City/Austin Age and Occupation: 33, Human Resources Fiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Technology Engagement Date: October 8, 2011 Wedding Date: September 2012 Venue: Pecan Grove at the Salt Lick About Me: I grew up in the Lone Star State, but moved to NYC after college to get a taste of the Big Apple, and never left. I love baking, yoga, Mr. C, and sunshine (not necessarily in that order)! Mr. C and I met on Match.com back in 2007, and our second date was at a Texas barbecue restaurant in Manhattan. It’s only fitting that after almost five years together, we are getting married at an iconic Texas barbecue joint. (Shiner Bock and brisket, anyone?) I’m proud of the life we have built together around our love for each other, Mr. C’s crazy dog Bosley, and fun sailing adventures on our boat, and I’m looking forward to celebrating our marriage at one seriously awesome party in September.

Crowning Glory…

July 27th, 2012 @ 6:56 am by Mrs. Cauldron

For many years now, I’ve worn my hair relatively short, and straight. This despite the fact that my hair is actually curly. (Grass is always greener syndrome?!) When I met Mr. C, back in the fall of 2007, my hair was short and straight, not to mention blonde.

Mr. C and me on our third date in November 2007! Blonde hair, short(ish), and straight.

That’s Bosley sneaking into the photo on the bottom right.

Over the years that we’ve known each other, I’ve gone from that to a few other lengths and colors:

Longer, and a bit darker, but still straight—Fall 2009

Shorter again, and darker still…and straight—August 2010

No dyeing involved in the darker color, but rather the lack of highlighting. That last photo is back to my full natural color.

In spring of 2011, I decided to go back to my full natural texture too.

The night of our engagement in October 2011—still dark, but now longer and curly!

I’ve been growing it out for about a year, and I think by September it should be perfect for a pretty updo on our wedding day. Maybe something like one of these:

Have any of you grown out your hair for your wedding? Or decided to stop fighting your natural texture?

LOVE that first updo snap. I may have to steal it for a wedding I’m in next month. I grew out my hair sooo long for my wedding. The longest I think it’s ever been and then promptly cut it all off (and then it all grew back too fast).

Yes, i let my hair grow unusually long (it’s straight) for the wedding. I did cut it a bit but i really liked having it long, after sooo many years between short and medium. I did play a little with colors – from black to dark brown at the wedding and to a rich brown with discrete highlights :)

I wish my hair HAD texture to play up. It’s straight and holds no curl :( . I grew up with long hair and one day in college chopped it off and donated it. It’s long again and will get donated after the wedding.

I love both of those pics – definitely something I am considering for my own wedding hairdo.

I actually started growing my hair years before I got engaged, because I’m a freak, and it was important to me to have my hair “long and natural” when all of the important phases of my life happened (getting engaged, getting married, having babies)… yes, I’m a lunatic. So it’s been long for awhile now, and I’m planning on an updo for the wedding, so I could’ve left it at the length it was before I started growing it long! Silly me.

I started a Long Hair Challenge about a month before I met my FI. I have been doing well and now my hair is longer than it has ever been. It should be perfect by the wedding in 2014.

And I LOVE your inspiration for wedding updo!

Love those two inspiration photos!! I grew my hair out ridiculously long for the wedding, I was so glad to chop a few inches off afterwards!

At my engagement party I chopped my hair to just below my ears. I have since grown it out and its now getting some real length to it, but I am thinking of wearing it down, so it doesn’t matter! I love your full thick hair and I am so jealous as I have always been straight straight straight!
