Mrs. Coach's Picture
Mrs. Coach, Dallas Age and Occupation: 21, Undergraduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Retail Sales/Management Engagement Date: October 14, 2011 Wedding Date: October 2012 Venue: Piazza in the Village About Me: I was born and raised in the piney woods of East Texas, but Dallas has recently stolen my heart (along with Mr. Coach, of course!) I love classic rock, suspense novels, and my sweet Mini Aussie puppy, Memphis. My fiancé and I are planning a traditional wedding filled with romance, and we can’t wait to combine our own personal touches with a timeless affair. We’re young in years, but are also old souls that love good food and great music, and enjoy many things that are well before our time. We’re planning this wedding together, learning lots, and relying on good wine and reruns of Seinfeld to keep us sane along the way!
About Mrs. Coach

Take a Seat!

August 3rd, 2012 @ 6:03 am by Mrs. Coach

Mr. Coach and I originally debated whether or not we wanted assigned seats/tables at our reception. On one hand, we aren’t doing different menu choices, so there was no need to determine who would be sitting where and getting which meal. On the other hand, we’re expecting to fill of the majority of our 120 maximum occupancy limit, so every seat will neat to have someone claiming it. Ultimately, we decided that assigned tables could be a good idea. We can be assured that everyone finds a place to sit and has a spot to enjoy the festivities. More importantly, having assigned tables allows me to find cute little table numbers and make an escort-card board. :) I have a fun tutorial coming soon for the escort frame, but for now, let’s talk table numbers!

I don’t know what it is, but I looove looking for table-number inspiration online. Whimsical DIY numbers, rustic number holders made from tree trunks, and super-sophisticated numbers from black-tie events: I love them all!

So how in the world am I supposed to choose what our table numbers will look like? Do I make them myself? Print off simple numbers? Order some off of Etsy like these? The list of options goes on!

Some of my favorite inspiration is pictures like these:

I really like the idea of using unique items for each table, rather than numbers—possibly cities, numbers with meaning (4 – Years We Have Been Dating, etc.), or maybe even the names of some of our favorite songs.

This table number caught my eye because it really adds some glamour to the table. Since we’re going with all white flowers, it could be fun to have a little sparkle with the table numbers.

Finally, I really considered just ordering these beauties online and calling it a day, but where’s the fun in that!? :) Whether I end up buying them or not, they are so classic and could easily spruce up any table decor.

I would really like to try and make my own numbers, possibly replicating one of the options above. I think any of them could be done with a little work. So, this is where I stand, still swooning over inspiration and trying to decide what I like best/where to begin. Any thoughts or suggestions? Did you purchase your table numbers or buckle down and make your own?

Which of the options above do you like best?

I think the bling will look great with all white flowers! I am planning to DIY too but buying is always a good option too. Either way it was handmade for your wedding!

I think these look as though they could be a fun DIY, especially those fun glittered numbers!

Table numbers where giving me a headache these last couple of weeks. I finally nailed down a design that Mr. B will bring to life. I still need to blog about it. ;)

I think that if you know what you’re doing table numbers shouldn’t be a hassle, and it’ll be a fun way to give a personal touch to the tables. I love hte idea of using songs or names meaningful for the couple.

The glittered ones shouldn’t be too hard to DIY and they are super cute. I say give it a try.

My fiance and I had one of our photographer friends take our pictures holding a blank frame and he filled in a table number for us. You could also use some of your pretty engagement photos to do the same thing! :)

So many great options! I’m a sucker for beautiful calligraphy so I say DIY calligraphy WITH table names/song titles, etc. Can’t wait to see what you end up doing!

The holder for the “Breckenridge” photo is very similar to ones at Michael’s. We also did assigned tables but not seats. It made everything so easy.

I really like the clever ones with meaning.

(We’re not doing assigned seating at all. Yay for one less project/decision!)

You could combine the names with meanings and the jewelled ones…!

We’re getting married at a bit country estate house and so that’s the name of our top table. All the other tables will be named after other grand houses and castles we have visited which is something we always do when in a new area. x

I agree with @Pink Penguin: combine those two; it’ll look amazing! I mean, any of those options are great, but inserting some more of yourselves into the wedding would be cute!

We’ll be doing table numbers, but those will be numbers relating to us as a couple; 3 – the years we will have been together, 15 – the years we’ve lived in our current city, etc. We’re also including a little explanation of these numbers within the frames for some cutesy facts for the guests to read! :)

Hey Miss Coach! I voted for DIY table names with meaning/song titles, but then again I am biased because thats what my fiance and I are doing! We are naming the tables after the street names we have lived in throughout our lives (together and seperate)

I bookmarked the jeweled one way back, but ultimately decided it could be hard to see in a dimly lit venue like ours. They really are beautiful, though!
