Miss Cauldron, New York City/Austin Age and Occupation: 33, Human Resources Fiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Technology Engagement Date: October 8, 2011 Wedding Date: September 2012 Venue: Pecan Grove at the Salt Lick About Me: I grew up in the Lone Star State, but moved to NYC after college to get a taste of the Big Apple, and never left. I love baking, yoga, Mr. C, and sunshine (not necessarily in that order)! Mr. C and I met on Match.com back in 2007, and our second date was at a Texas barbecue restaurant in Manhattan. It’s only fitting that after almost five years together, we are getting married at an iconic Texas barbecue joint. (Shiner Bock and brisket, anyone?) I’m proud of the life we have built together around our love for each other, Mr. C’s crazy dog Bosley, and fun sailing adventures on our boat, and I’m looking forward to celebrating our marriage at one seriously awesome party in September.

Party Attire for the Bride…

August 12th, 2012 @ 7:40 am by Mrs. Cauldron

Mr. C’s mom is throwing an “open house” for us back in his hometown in Michigan in July so that friends and family who won’t be able to make it down to Texas can celebrate with us in town. Many of them have never met me since we live out in NYC, so it will be a fun afternoon of food and celebration.

Mr. C says I have to bring my “NYC style,” as they will all be expecting me to be fabulous. No pressure or anything. So I’ve been trying to find something fun to wear that won’t be too fancy or too casual, but just right. And kind of bride-ish, maybe?

I got this cute Lilly Pulitzer dress on sale recently—seems to be a good mix of fun and bridal, and good for a summer-afternoon party. Can you see it with a bright necklace or bracelets and some fun sandals?

And this isn’t very bride-ish, but I’m kind of loving it. It’s sweet and simple but also a gives a nod to our sailing habit:

So cute!

Which one do you like better? Or are they both misses?

I think they’re both adorable! It’s hard to tell since you’re only wearing one, but I think I like the second better. I just think it’s perfect since you’re both sailing people.

I think the second dress is really fun, but if you’re shooting for bridal, the first dress hits that mark a little better. I would probably wear the second if it were me, but I’m not a huge fan of bridal white for every event surrounding the wedding. (I love color!)

I love the first one on you! So sweet and it so does have a bride vibe to it which is what you were after! I can see it with a statement necklace and some gorgeous shoes!

Both are really cute. I like the first one so much more. I really am not a fan of the back of the 2nd one.

The Lily P is really cute! You could add a fun belt or sash for a pop of color or something. Loft has a couple cute flowery ones. :)
