Mrs. Coach's Picture
Mrs. Coach, Dallas Age and Occupation: 21, Undergraduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Retail Sales/Management Engagement Date: October 14, 2011 Wedding Date: October 2012 Venue: Piazza in the Village About Me: I was born and raised in the piney woods of East Texas, but Dallas has recently stolen my heart (along with Mr. Coach, of course!) I love classic rock, suspense novels, and my sweet Mini Aussie puppy, Memphis. My fiancé and I are planning a traditional wedding filled with romance, and we can’t wait to combine our own personal touches with a timeless affair. We’re young in years, but are also old souls that love good food and great music, and enjoy many things that are well before our time. We’re planning this wedding together, learning lots, and relying on good wine and reruns of Seinfeld to keep us sane along the way!
About Mrs. Coach

…is now completed! This past weekend, I had my 15 minutes 10 seconds of fame, walked across the stage (without falling), and received my college diploma!

The One Thing Standing Between Me and the Wedding... : wedding announcements dallas IMG 240 IMG_240

I don’t want to sound like a crazy, wedding-obsessed girl who just wanted to finish school and get married, buuut…that’s exactly what I’ve been since Mr. C proposed last October, and dare I say, even before that? I’ve always been a great student, and always knew I wanted to go to college and get my degree, but to be perfectly honest, when I realized about tw0 semesters in that I could graduate early, I was stoked. Mr. Coach graduated early with his degree, in just three years, and when I realized I could do the same and possibly marry this man a little sooner, I was pretty darn excited. So, when the wedding planning came into the picture, even though I was “getting out” early, my graduation day couldn’t come soon enough. I really just wanted to finish up all of my classes, and be able to focus 100% on our Big Day.

Now, that time is finally here! I will undoubtedly start searching for a job after the wedding, but I’m very lucky in that Mr. C has a great job and I can just enjoy these next few months of wedding planning without feeling like I need to focus on a job hunt right away.

My diploma was actually in the tube! So exciting to see that document!

My graduation from college also marks the end of a pretty extensive stage in mine and Mr. C’s dating relationship. We have been dating for almost four years, with three of those being while I was in college, so there has already been, and will continue to be, some transitioning. I’ve already realized it’s a little different not having your own places and schedules, and going from a long-distance relationship to living in the same place is certainly a change, but overall, everything that is happening right now (moving, graduation, marriage!) is very exciting and all very positive for us!

I’m really hoping to fill these next two months (um, what!?) with some fun projects, and of course lots of last-minute planning. I can’t wait to share it all with you guys, and I really can’t wait for October to get here so that I can marry my best friend—as an education woman! ;)

Has anyone else hit any big non-wedding milestones lately? It’s so hard for me to not be completely focused on the wedding and push other things aside, but I really enjoyed getting to walk across the stage and focus on a non-wedding celebration with family for a few days!

Woo! I graduated four days after getting engaged–it’s been so nice just to focus on the wedding and not have papers and presentations to worry about. Enjoy it!

Congratulations! It’s so amazing you both graduated an entire year early! I’ll be worrying about school for most of my wedding planning process–I graduate in December and am married in May, but I’ll be spending that semester off also preparing for graduate school, applying places, scholarship competitions, etc. Balancing education and wedding planning can be tricky, but I’m actually glad I get to: when one gets stressful, I can just switch gears to the other, haha!

Reminds me of a private school near me, where the senior girls have a motto of “get a ring by spring” and many, many girls have wedding fever leading up to graduation. Was that the case at your school?

I’ve been told that having a bachelor’s degree now is becoming considered the new high school diploma. Do you think you’ll have to go back for more education? That’s what always scared me about getting married young, because if the only programs I’m accepted to for PhD aren’t in the area (highly likely since doctorate-level programs are only at universities), I don’t want to give up on that goal because I’m married and have to remain in a certain area for my husband’s job. It’s just something to consider I guess :(

Congrats! DH and I didn’t meet until after undergrad, but we were engaged while I was finishing law school/taking the bar exam and he was finishing up his MSEE. It’s a great feeling to be done with school and get to focus on wedding stuff!

Oh man I’m so jealous you have all that time off after school to focus on the wedding. How wonderful! Enjoy the time off… it’s so nice to relax when school is done before reality hits! :)

Yippy Congrats on finishing school. Do you get that freak out moment like O CRAP I need to write a paper by frida… wait a minute! hahaI have a kind of similar story. Me and FI purchased our home in September after living in an aprtment together for a year and half, then we purchased a puppy, then I graduated from University and then I got engaged within 3 months!! :) It was a busy time in my life so these past 7 months have been fun just enjoying the planning process I am almost down to the 99 day count down eppppp!
