Eleven days ago on August 4th, my parents walked me down the aisle…

Some of my favorite reception moments were our cake cutting and sparkler exit:

Our wedding went by in a flash. I seriously don’t remember much of it (and I only had a total of two glasses of champagne and a couple sips of wine at dinner) until I look at photos. We had so much fun! I’ve never seen WIFE Eagle (yay!) so happy and relaxed. Our wedding turned out just as I had planned it to, and there weren’t any snags. (I prepared myself for something to go wrong—but really, nothing did!)
The only thing I didn’t expect? As we were walking toward our Town Car at the end of the night, I burst into tears and said “It’ over? Is it really over? I can’t believe it’s over…” I think I scared my bridesman Teigan. Wife Eagle just laughed it off because she knew I was overwhelmed, but I think Teigan was genuinely concerned that I was upset the wedding was done. Not to worry: Yes, the wedding is over…but the marriage has just begun!
Our honeymoon was fun—I’m dark dark dark from the Dominican sun, but Wife Eagle is burnt so badly she’s got scabs all over her skin. She faithfully used Neutrogena SPF 110—I guess some people just aren’t meant to go in the sun. We had an awesome time relaxing on the beach, drinking fruity drinks, and eating fun Dominican food. It was nice to get away together and celebrate our first week of being married!
I still can’t believe we’re here. We’re (legally) married, and I couldn’t be happier.
We’ll have to wait a while for our professional photos (and recaps for you all)—but in the meantime I’ll be sharing some last-minute DIY details and planning that I didn’t get a chance to blog about before the wedding. I can’t wait for you all to see everything!
Signing off for the first time as a MRS.!
