I’m a 28-Year-Old Cinderella WannaBEE

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that when you Google the words “glass slipper wedding shoes” you are taken to photos like this:

THAT IS A LITTLE GIRL’S SHOE! Once again, I’m reminded of how my wedding theme is similar to that of a six-year-old’s birthday party. Ah, good times. :)

After weeding through shoe companies that play on the “glass slipper” name, pictures of Cinderella shoe favors, Cinderella shoe centerpieces, and children-sized slippers, I wasn’t left with much! Apparently Louboutin designed a shoe to resemble the famous Disney character’s slippers, which is awesome, and it’s a gorgeous shoe but too ornate for me. And too high for a wedding! (Let’s not even get into the price or the fact that you can’t purchase them!)

Now I know I don’t have to have a glass, plastic, or even clear shoe to feel like a princess, but ever since I named all my girls and gave myself the alias of Cinderella I’ve felt compelled to at least try to resemble the famous slippers at much as I can!

So far I’ve been able to find one good replica:

But I’m undecided if I want to take such a specific route. I don’t even know if I think the shoe is that beautiful, to be perfectly honest! It’s simple (which I LOVE), but is it enough for a wedding-day outfit?

I think I might visit a traditional bridal shoe salon or browse a few boutiques to see what else is out there before I make any more rash decisions and start Googling “fairy godmothers” and “pumpkins that turn into carriages”!

Are you really opinionated about your bridal shoe? Or have you barely started looking like me? What do you think of my glass slipper idea??

I think I’m in the minority because I really like those shoes. I honestly like the literal interpretation of the fairytale with clear shoes (and you could always have a second pair after pictures for dancing, etc. if these got too uncomfortable, which lots of brides have reception flats anyways!). I think they would look GREAT in pictures and be really original!

I know those shoes! My daughter played Cinderella in the musical at her high school this past spring. And she wore those shoes and said they were really uncomfortable and her feet was sweating like crazy. Poor Prince Charming! LOL

Not completely glass but look at that heel! perspex styled as cut glass and overall theyre quite ‘regency era’ -ish! i could imagine cinders wearing something similar =)

I’m wearing these babies in 3 weeks time and they are worth every penny!

Bridal shoes were really hard for me as I have weird feet! The ones I bought were actually a touch too big but I have managed to rectify that problem! Try Light in the box. I know a while back they were advertising a comp for some cinderalla shoes!

Wow, thanks for all the opinions!! I think I will keep looking, I don’t want to go the most obvious route, and I love the sparkly shoe idea!! But thank you for all the info and links, I really appreciate it.

What about these? They have that silver mesh that looks very glass slipper-y and a little sparkle while still being relatively simple and sleek.

I just read an article the other day and thought about this post. DSW and Disney are coming out with a line of Cinderella shoes. The one picture they had in the article looked like they were going to be cute, from what I could see! Anyways they will come out on October 1st and seem to be super affordable. Thought you might want to look into them. The link below is to the article I saw.
