Lucky Numbers

August 20th, 2012 @ 2:45 pm by Mrs. Treasure

We’re doing assigned seating at our wedding, so guests will need to find their seats in an easy way. This is why some genius a million years ago invented table numbers. But, of course, modern brides had to go mess it all up by getting creative. There are so many options nowadays for designating which table is which.

There’s the simple, traditional option:

Or the use of photos:

Or you can choose not to use numbers at all:

Which style is your favorite?

I like the idea of table names, but I do think it makes it difficult to find your table! I personally love your first photo — so pretty!

We named our tables after our favorite racetracks, but the caterer still put the stupid big tall numbers on the tables. Grr.
Anyway, I like giving guests something other than a number to look at and talk about. We printed a little blurb about us or the place on the back of our table names.

I love the years of your life table numbers. I am either going to do that or campsite names for my wedding.

We’re getting married in a stately home and love to visit them and castles. So we are naming all of our tables after castles and houses we have been to together. The top table will be named after the one we are actually getting married in. x

I personally like numbers. Love the wooden numbers with fabric background, but it really depends on overall look. I went to a wedding recently that had movie titles instead of numbers. It was super cute but I wandered a bit trying to find our table. Thankfully it was a small wedding and only had 6 tables. I think numbers are much easier for larger weddings.

We are having a full Pagan handfasting so we decided to use Pagan symbols (like the Triskele and Triple Goddess) as the table labels. We will make the seating chart a miniature picture of the room layout so they know where their table is located in the room and it helps that we are having a small wedding with only 6 tables lol. Then they will find their name on their seat on the back of their personal Tarot card that we picked specifically for them.

I think anywhere you can add photos in a wedding is my favourite! :)

I love the age photo table number combo, gives guests a chance to see old pictures of the couple and a reason to visit other tables!

My favorite is the photo corresponding with age. We aren’t doing that as it was just a task that I didn’t want to tackle, but still my favorite!

My table numbers are printed on labels which are on a homemade bottle of wine. The oldest person at each table will take it home. I like the idea of giving each table number a significance….like 7 (years we been dating!) lol.

I like table numbers. Mine are german glitter glass numbers from BHLDN- which I’m displaying on traditional 8″ table number stakes I purchased in the wholesale restaurant supply district here in Manhattan. For me, function always comes first- I want my guests to easily navigate where they have to sit.

Very cute ideas! We’re using famous scientists, one for each table. (We’ll frame a picture of the scientist for each table and include a small description of their name and discovery/what they’re famous for.)

I think it depends on the number of guests. If you are having a large wedding, I think numbers are best because it then becomes hard to find your table. If you are having a smaller wedding (50-75), then I personally like places, names, or something besides numbers because they are just more fun and personal.

ooh so many options… I’m currently trying to tackle this too! I’ve been seeing couples use engagement photos as their table number a lot lately! It’s cute because you can use your epics and still make it our own (colors you use, how to display the number in the picture)

I feel so special! Thanks for the shout-out!

All the ideas are great, but I will say that I ditched the idea of using photos corresponding with ages when I realized we’d have to go through junior high and all its awkwardness. ;)
