Introducing, The Sparklers!

September 7th, 2012 @ 11:10 am by Mrs. Sparkler

After our guests found their seats for dinner, our wedding coordinator began lining the wedding party up outside. It was time for us to make our grand entrance! We had two amazing friends start the introductions, and we were off!

Thank you guys for the hysterical intros! :)

We let our wedding party decide what songs they wanted to be introduced to, and their choices were pretty hilarious. I wish I could remember everything they picked, but I was just so overwhelmed with emotion at this point…all I could do was laugh and smile (and laugh some more!).

First out of the gate was our officiant, Drew. He kept it super classy and sauntered in with a glass of scotch. He was already a hit with our guests after his amazing officiating job, and his entrance was met with big cheers. But that was about as long as the classiness lasted, I’m afraid. Our friends put on quite a show…waltzing in to Tupac (and I think I heard Wu-Tang?), giving piggyback rides, and generally charming the pants off the whole crowd. Sparks and I loved every second of it.

These pictures of Littlest Sparkler Sis and Groomsman A are two of my favorite from the entire night. I just love how absolutely happy this moment is.

Pirate Sis lookin’ hot!

We were almost through our wedding party, but still had one very important couple to go: Our best man and maid of honor. And I will NEVER forget the “song” that they came in to, because it was just so weird and hilarious. You might remember that my whole fam is bunch of huge LOST fans…well, so is Best Man. And he and Sparkler Sis decided it would be hysterical to be introduced to the LOST “whispers.” If you’ve watched the show, you know the sounds I’m talking about. Basically, Sis and Best Man ran into the reception area pretending they were on the show. Yes, it was weird. But I also almost peed my wedding dress laughing.

Best Man took this extremely seriously.

After thoroughly confusing our non-LOST-watching guests, there was only one couple left to be introduced. Hi, hive…we’re the Sparklers.

After a quick spin, Sparks and I made our way over to the head table with the rest of our wedding party. As we turned around to sit down, we were greeted with large shouts from the balcony.

Heeeeeey, balcony friends!

…then we found our seats, pulled together a quick, “cheers!” with the head table, and settled in to listen to a few speeches.

Great twist on the traditional introductions! How hysterical about the LOST intro too. (Gah, I am so in love with your sophisticated city wedding… the divine dresses – especially yours, the venue, the colors! Love it all.)

My 15-year-old brother is the reason we can’t let our wedding party pick their own songs. Actually, we haven’t even told them we’re doing intros bc he wants to put a Sharpie in his sock and sign an autograph when he’s introduced. haha Silly teenaged boy.

I love this and LOVE that you let your group pick their own songs. I think that’s such an awesome way to let each of them have a little bit of the spotlight, which they totally deserve. :)
