Mrs. Armadillo's Picture
Mrs. Armadillo, Houston, Texas Age and Occupation: 23, Graduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Armed Security Officer Engagement Date: September 28, 2011 Wedding Date: March 2013 Venue: First Presbyterian Church/Bay City Civic Center About Me: I’m an oldies-loving, board game-playing, coffee addicted fine arts junkie from Southeast Texas in pursuit of her master’s degree in communication studies who met the goofy, strong, artistic, and unexpected love of her life in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas. Serendipity threw us together again and again (and again) on our college campus before we eventually stuck, but when we finally did submit to destiny, we hit the ground running and never looked back! We’re planning a religious, small town, budget-friendly, DIY-infused “winter becomes springtime” ceremony and reception to celebrate the beginning of our lives together with the people we love the most, and are pouring our hearts and souls into making sure our wedding represents us as a couple down to the nitty gritty details and balances tradition with the quirky individuality that is uniquely and unequivocally “us”!

Take Your Seats!

September 21st, 2012 @ 12:45 pm by Mrs. Armadillo

I wanna share with you guys one of the first DIY projects I’ve attempted for our big day, and I’m totally thrilled with how they turned out! What are we talking about? Why, bride and groom chair signs, of course!

I don’t know if you’ve seen these out and about, but a lot of wedding pictures I’ve come across these days include a photograph of chair signs designating where the bride and groom are sitting (you know…just in case you don’t know who those two people are sitting at the front of the reception venue). While they aren’t exactly practical or necessary, I do think they’re pretty adorable. And so, I would now like to unveil DIY wedding project numero uno!

What do we think? Are you a fan of bride and groom chair signs in general, or do you think they’re an unnecessary DIY project? What other ways have you seen the special couple’s seats marked?

I love how you did the green border around your signs. They are perfect for a more rustic wedding than I’m having, but I still love them!

Very cute! The amount of chair decoration on wedding blogs has caught my eye, too – though I never planned to make any for us.

Our chairs faced the wall, so I didn’t do this. But I do love all the different little signs, especially ampersands in the middle!
Yours are so cute! I love that sprig in the right corner, very garden-y.

Love it! I think they’re unnecessary, but I most certainly intend to have some because I think they’re cute and I love the pictures. Most stuff with weddings nowadays are unnecessary, but I don’t mind! :)

LOVE IT! I had “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs for our table, but I totally procrastinated on them so I couldn’t make anything as elaborate as these. I love yours!!

@pacNWbride: Yes! Probably purple/fuchsia ribbon. :)

Thanks, guys! This was the very first DIY wedding-related project I tackled (random, I know) so they’ve actually been sitting in a box for almost a year. It’s kinda nice to see the pictures of them so I don’t forget what they look like! ;)

I really love anything that designates the B & G if we’re being honest. Lately I’ve become a big fan of the use of the bride’s veil to ‘decorate’ her seat during the reception.
