The Treasure RSVP Breakdown

September 25th, 2012 @ 8:50 am by Mrs. Treasure

I love RSVP blog posts because I think it helps people figure out their own logistics, so here’s mine!

We invited a total of 176 guests to our wedding. Here’s how those 176 people broke down:

Our final guest count is 114 (including us). That means that about 65% of the people we invited are coming.

The 35% attrition rate is a little higher than we anticipated, but we’re excited that it means we’ll be able to spend more time with the people who are making the journey to Chicago.

Speaking of making the journey, we are having quite a few out-of-town guests. Mr. T and I have said that our wedding is a destination wedding for everyone but us, and that’s almost true—82% of the people we invited to our wedding don’t live in Chicago.

Of those 145 out-of-town family members and friends, 58% will be attending the wedding.

Our local friends (and two family members) had a higher acceptance rate at 80%.

I have a big family (seven sets of aunts and uncles and 21 cousins (excluding their spouses and children)), and I’m excited that a lot of them are able to make it.

Mr. T’s family is a bit smaller, but since he’s the first grandchild to get married, it’s quite the family event. A lot of his family members will be coming in from Ontario for a whole week and making our wedding part of their Chicago vacation.

Our wedding is a bit smaller than expected, and of course there are people missing from our guest list that we would’ve loved to be there, but we’re happy that the smaller guest list will allow us to really spend time with our nearest and dearest. And in just four days, we’ll be partying with them as Mr. and Mrs.!

@Miss Treasure: Really? They look so spiffy and professional! I guess I haven’t made pie charts since Microsoft Excel in the 90s :)

@Miss Treasure: thanks for the post – i think you’re right, you’ll get a lot more 1-1 time with your guests this way!

Awesome breakdown post. I also have a huge family (my dad’s side’s numbers actually sound about the same as yours off the top of my head), but I’m hoping about half of them don’t want to come. I’m hoping for under 100, so we’ll see where we fall when it comes down to it!

@Miss Treasure AHHHH! I can’t believe the day is already pretty much here!!! (Mine is on Sunday!)…our breakdown was similar…lots of people who couldn’t travel. We invited around 110 and are having 80 (including Mr. S and I)

I love this post! I’m a total spreadsheet and graphics geek and this so cool. It makes me feel better as knowing that other people out there are having weddings that are destination weddings for a lot of their guests – we have maybe 5% of our invite list in Charlotte, NC (where we live and the wedding is), the others are mainly in Maryland and England. I’m hoping we have a turn out like yours. Enjoy your day on Saturday :)
