About two weeks ago I was down in Miami. I got so much accomplished on that trip. But I have to say, crafting poolside was not the reason for my trip…my bridal shower was!!! It was a beautiful party hosted by sister/MOH Beanstalk!

It was held at The Peacock Garden Cafe in Coconut Grove. The Peacock Garden Cafe is the cutest little cafe! None of us had ever been there before so it was a real treat for us all! The cafe is located on the main street that runs through the Grove. However, you would never know that because of all of the lush landscaping! As soon as you walk up the walkway under the bright orange awning, you feel as though you have entered a secret garden!
Tiny mason jar lights dangle on lines hung through the trees. Bright colored umbrellas protect lunch goers from the warm south Florida sun. Mismatched chairs add to the shabby chic garden ambiance. To say that I was excited for my shower was an understatement!
Our party was set up under there covered terrace. Framed menus told guests what they could order. It was a brunch, so Eggs Benedict, omelets and french toast were the options. Sparking water was on hand in cute glass bottles and endless mimosas were served to all (who were of age, of course).
We nibbled on an assortment of baked goods as we chatted with one another. Once all of the guests arrived, we ordered our food and began to play the games! First on the agenda of fun was a game of Yankee Swap. Guests didn’t bring any items for the swap because Sister Beanstalk provided all of the items. Gifts were wrapped and placed throughout the table.
Each guest drew a number and then, starting with number one, they would choose a gift from the selection in the center of the table and unwrap it. The next guest could either take someone elses’ gift or pick their own. Sister Beanstalk didn’t tell anyone what was wrapped beneath the paper, but did give us a hint saying all items had the same general theme! Hmmmm, wonder what it could be…

Are you starting to see the theme? All of the gifts were different cookbooks! It was such a clever way to play the game and I know everyone enjoyed it!
Some cookbooks were quite popular and were swapped several times!

I had my eyes on the cupcake book…thankfully my number was close to last and I got it!
As we wrapped up the swap game, our food came and we started to eat!

Once brunch was over, it was time to play another game! This time it was a quiz! How well do you know the bride! Sister B had typed up 10 questions and had our guests answer to see who knew me best!

Turns out, most of our guests know me pretty well because there were actually several winners! Sister B awarded our winners their prizes!
I couldn’t believe there was ANOTHER cupcake book! I REALLY wanted this one!!!
Next up…presents! I got some very lovely gifts and felt completely showered with love!

After presents, it was time for cake! Sister B got me a cake that mirrored the cute shower invitation perfectly! It was a dulce de leche cake, and let me tell you…it was beyond delicious! I tried so hard to finish my piece, but I just couldn’t…I was still so full from brunch! However, I did enjoy some yummy cake in the days that followed!
Me and my cake! *Side note: I actually had a light pink cardi on as well, but it was so unbelievably hot out that I just couldn’t wear it any longer, despite how cute it was!
We chatted for a bit more and talked about all things wedding! And Sister Beanstalk passed out the favors (yes, she got every guest a favor in addition to all of the cookbooks for the Yankee swap)! She really is the best sister! What were the favors? Candles from Bath and Body Works that were packaged in super cute goodie bags made by MOH/sister Beanstalk!

It started to rain and we took that as our cue to head home. Thankfully the cafe has their own elevator that takes guests down to the garage! So cool, because that meant nobody got wet!
