About Mrs. Doe

As we headed out from the ceremony to begin taking photos, I quickly noticed that the rain was starting to reveal itself. Not to the point where you are saying “run for cover,” but more or less you realize that it is indeed raining. Kelly Dalisa, owner at our venue Monte Verde Inn, must have seen my rain frustration because she quickly handed us each a glass of champagne. It was that or the fact that we just got married. Yeah, that was probably it.

One of the first photos taken after the ceremony is one I am not too happy with. I’m sure I look normal to most people, but I look at that picture and I have flashbacks to what I was thinking.

Thoughts going through my head:

“Is it seriously raining? Memorial Day weekend?!”

“I curse myself for not ordering cute umbrellas.”

“I really need a Mary Poppins bag. Like right now. From which I could withdraw an umbrella.”

“Preferably a white lacy bridal umbrella.”

“This champagne is delish.”

Luckily the rain subsided for a bit so that we could head off and take some photos. Here’s some advice for all of you for taking photos. And no, I am not going to say to make a list of all the poses you want. I am going to say: MAKE SURE YOU BRING THE LIST WITH YOU. Yeah, I forgot it. So we had to wing it, but luckily we had that “just married” charm so the photos turned out pretty well.

Did you have a list for what poses you wanted for photos or did you just wing it like we did?

Over 10 years go by and we get married

The birds and the weather join us

We promise to laugh

We journey down the aisle

The ceremony begins

The bridesmaids share a view out the window

The boys shake their nerves and take photos

The girls take photos

I show you my magical flowers

I talk about my whipped cream dress

The girls have fun getting glam

We get our hair done and grub down on some food delivered by dad

Beautiful!
I was wondering if your hair is naturally curly? I had my hairstylist try to fix mine like that and it fell out in 2 hours during my portraits. Was wondering how they did yours. Did they do rollers first or just a curling iron?
Would so appreciate the response! I just love your hair and would love for mine to look like that in pics ;)

Thank you ladies :)

@RoyalPurpleBride: Thank you! Mine is naturally curly so it does hold a curl pretty well. She curled it, no rollers. However, I know my hair dresser used Kenra setting spray as well as Kenra hairspray, which does work wonders. I also had hair extensions mixed in which did help a lot, here is the link if you want to check out my post on it. http://www.weddingbee.com/2012/05/04/bridal-hair-extensions/

A list of poses? I never tought about that. But Mr. T’s not a photogenic person, I’ll never be able to make him pose for photos.

Pictures are amazing! We definitely made a list and I need to remember to bring it for sure! So are you saying that I should order some cute umbrellas just in case? Lol. I only have one month from today before I marry at the MVI!!!

@future_mrs_sommer: Kelly does have some sleek looking black umbrellas, but I’m not sure how many. We had one at dinner, which I’ll talk about in a bit. It also depends on where you are planning on taking photos. If it drizzles a little on your big day and you are planning on having outdoor photos, it might be super cute to have some fancy umbrellas! But you may have perfect weather, you just never know :)
