Mrs. Hawk's Picture
Mrs. Hawk, Richmond, VA Age and Occupation: 26, Finance Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, District Supervisor Engagement Date: March 13, 2011 Wedding Date: May 2012 Venue: The Chapel of the Sir Christopher Wren Building, 2007 Legacy Hall About Me: I’m an Arizona-born girl who has spent the majority of my life living below the Mason-Dixon line. The South has definitely earned a special place in my heart (alongside my Virginia born and bred fiance, of course!). We are planning a traditional Christian ceremony at my alma mater in historic Williamsburg, Virginia, followed by a rocking reception filled with Southern cooking and vintage/shabby chic details. When we’re not wedding planning, we enjoy spending time with our three dogs, going for runs together, watching plenty of football (or baseball depending on the season), and sampling new wine.
About Mrs. Hawk

After finishing up the photography, Mr. H and I hopped into our chariot friend’s Tahoe.

Although we had originally planned on arranging group transfer from the ceremony to the reception, time and money got away from us. Instead we regrouped at the hotel and carpooled with the wedding party. Glamorous? Notsomuch, but it worked out just fine!

While I took a moment to breathe at the hotel (and shoved a Cheese Shop bread end or two in my mouth to keep from passing out), our guests were enjoying cocktail hour.

On the menu? Bruschetta, international and domestic cheeses with assorted crackers, fresh fruit, and vegetables with a variety of sauces.

The waitstaff also passed jumbo shrimp cocktail, pinwheels of boursin cheese, asparagus, and roasted red pepper, along with Mr. Hawk’s barbecue sliders.

Although we arrived at the reception before the cocktail hour was over, we chose to relax in the entryway for a few minutes before our grand entrances. Thankfully, our caterer stashed some hors d’ourves for us, so we were able to sample everything. I must admit, I think Mr. Hawk was right about the sliders. They were delicious!

Will you having a cocktail hour?

I’m planning on having a cocktail hour during our photos. Now I just have to decide if we would join in the last 15-20 minutes or just wait for the grand entrance.
