Mrs. Castle's Picture
Mrs. Castle, NYC/Southern California Age and Occupation: 26, Actress/Babysitter Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Actor/Writer/Graphic Designer Engagement Date: January 1, 2011 Wedding Date: April 2012 Venue: Padua Hills Theater About Me: I am a Southern California girl living in the Big Apple. I moved here to put my degree in Musical Theater to work! My survival job is caregiver to an adorable 2 1/2 year old. When I'm not working, auditioning or rehearsing, I am hanging out at home with my FI and our two beloved cats. I love to read, sing, dance, hang with friends, and spend quality time with Mr. Castle watching our favorite TV shows (LOST, Big Bang Theory, and Mythbusters...to name a few). Mr Castle and I met while performing in college, so it is only fitting that our wedding take place at an old theater. We are planning a vintage, theater-inspired wedding with some DIY projects and plenty of personal touches thrown in. I love living in the city but I am excited to marry my man in the state where we fell in love.

We Start Today: Me and My Girls

October 9th, 2012 @ 11:51 am by Mrs. Castle

Once I was finally able to break free from the bridal suite, it was time take some photos with my favorite girls in the world!

So happy to finally be outside!

This photo is such perfection. The girls’ orange dresses really pop against the greenery.

I love this picture even though MOH N’s eyes are closed…

When you tell a group of girls who majored in theater to look at each other and laugh you know they will deliver.

Then tell them to strike a pose, and this is what you get:

Notice Bridesmaid L on the left peeking through her flowers….

In this photo she is trying to hide all but one eye.

Apparently, when we were looking at bridesmaid dresses at David’s Bridal, there was a girl doing this in one of the catalogues. Bridesmaid L thought it must be the “thing” now.

Then I was encouraged to do my “thing.” I can close one eye fully while keeping the other eye completely open. Mr. Castle calls it my broken doll look, or my owl eye. It usually comes out when I’m annoyed. It’s what I do instead of rolling my eyes.

Close up of my owl eye look. Being able to do this makes putting on eye makeup a breeze!

Next, I took some individual photos with each of my girls starting with MOH N. They told us to look at each other and we both immediately started tearing up. This amazing woman and I met when we were ten. I was her Maid of Honor eight years earlier, and here we were on my wedding day. It didn’t take much for us to get emotional.

After we looked at each other for like a second, I laughed and said, “Yeah not a good idea.” You can see MOH N in the final photo fighting back tears. I had to keep it together because I still had to take photos with all my other ladies.

After each gal took a photo with me, they moved over a bit and got some individual shots.

Look at these beautiful ladies! Each girl wore their own unique necklace and accessories. They were complemented on their choices all day!

My gorgeous MOH looking totally flawless after her emotion moment. Can you believe this women has three children???

Before we went back into hiding the bridal suite, I needed to get a shoe picture! I let the ladies work out what they wanted to wear shoe wise. I didn’t really care if they matched or not. MOH N rocked the leopard shoes. It was a nice way for her to stand out a bit. The other ladies decided to go with a neutral tone. I loved all their choices of accessories and foot wear.

Did you choose your bridesmaids’ accessories or did you let them do their own thing?

I absolutely LOVE MOH N’s necklace – where did she get it?!?

I agree with Dublin that the orange is so vibrant and really looks amazing with your white dress!

Thank you ladies so much. I am so happy with the choices we made and how great it all looked together!

@MissHydrant: She got it at a store called Francesca’s collection. I had never heard of them before but I guess it’s a chain. This is their website http://www.francescas.com

Wow, that “broken doll” face scared the crap out of me!! :) What a skill! Gorgeous photos, love the pop of colour in the dresses.

@Miss Otter: Thanks! It was really special to have that moment with each of the girls.

@Irish_in_Oxford: Hahahaha it does have a tendency to freak people out. I have friends who can’t look at me when I’m doing it and most of the time it’s not intentional! It just happens! Lol

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that all the ladies had different accent necklaces and shoes – such a great contrast of matchy, yet unique. Y’all are so pretty!

I really love the orange. It’s not a color that I ever thought I could rock, but now I’m dying to try.

I am in love with the bridesmaids dresses and the single shots of you and your ladies! I think it’s always lovely to kind of celebrate each of them by doing singular photos.

these photos came out super cute! I LOVE your bridesmaids dresses! I lust over them in every post! They’re so flirty and fun! I also am a huge fan of the mismatched shoes and jewelery…each girl was able to bring a bit of her personality into the look!

Your photos came out awesome! My girls are choosing everything of their own. I just told them satin short black dresses. I trust them on the jewelry front and shoe front. I just gave the guideline of no super high platforms but after seeing your girls in their shoes, I think I might take that back.

@FutureMrsSpencer: That will look great! Yeah all my girls, myself included are shorties so I knew they all would wear high platform heels. I think MOH N won for tallest shoes. They were 5 inch platform heels!

I absolutely adore all of this! I am going with pink and orange for my wedding and always dreamed of orange bridesmaid dresses. Thanks for giving me hope that there are good ones out there, and I’m so happy to see how great they look against the greenery (we’re hoping for a garden wedding)!!!

@Blonde17Jess: Yay for orange bridesmaids dresses! Some of my family thought I was crazy but when they finally saw them in person they loved the orange dresses. There are a ton of great orange dresses out there!

Serious question: is the eye thing an anomaly?! I do it all the time (specifically when I’m drinking or annoyed, like you) and get teased about it 24/7. I didn’t realize it was unique! Lol.

I love the way your dresses look against the backgrounds. Orange on its own isn’t a color I love, but I LOVE it in these photos and on your girls!
