At the same time as I was deliberating my dress options, I was also thinking about shoes. I have never really been a shoe person. I am a terrible heel walker (which stinks since I’m 5”1’ and need the help!). I tend to wear the same shoes over and over (why buy six different pairs of brown boots when I can just wear one with those same outfits?). But lately I’ve had to get a lot of different shoes for all the weddings I’ve been in, and I have to say, standing in five-inch stilettos does give me an extra oomph that I know I’ll want on my wedding day. So, heels it is!
But, what to pick? Although I know it’s trendy, I do really like the colored-shoe thing. I think they look good in pictures and it’s a nice way to tie in the wedding colors on the bride. So I started looking for green shoes:

Nine West Dispatch platform via Endless, $72.49

Christian Louboutin Bibi via Christian Louboutin, $845 / Man oh man
I also loved the idea of something with a little bling:

Christian Louboutin Duvette pumps via Upscale Hype, $675 / These are killer.

Spirit of the Moment heels via BHLDN, $475

Alice and Olivia Larimore laser cut pumps via Shopbop, $325 / Wow, right?

Brian Atwood Maniac metallic pumps via Saks, $595

Steve Madden Playy-r pump via Nordstrom, $129.95
In the end, I knew that:
• Louboutins or Atwoods or the like weren’t financially feasible. I can rationalize extra spending on a lot of things…but shoes aren’t one of them (but boy are they gorgeous!).
• Because of the aforementioned heel-walking issue…I doubt I last that long into the reception before changing into flats—I just want some height for our pictures. (Not only am I short, but Wolfman is 6’1”.) So no need to go crazy. Here’s what I picked:

Nine West Topshoe via Nine West, on sale for $59
I love a chunky heel, it has the green and a bit of a vintage vibe, and I think the little strap adds something that makes it a bit more formal/feminine. Plus, the price was excellent!
