I worked with Joel Vera for hair and makeup. We held a trial in May that I didn’t tell you all about in order to keep some things secret! On the day of, he and his assistant had a lot to do: Hair and makeup for me and my mom, hair for four bridesmaids, blow dry for MIL Genie, hair for my sister, and curls and a little makeup for our flower girl! No wonder he showed up so early to get us all done up!

I love you, hive. I am makeup-less and this is blurry.

While we were all getting ready, I was working on my letter to Mr. Genie. I picked it up and put it down often during the day, letting my thoughts flow freely, but trying not to ramble. And there were some other shenanigans.

I also voted on the morning of the wedding! That’s right. Nothing would stop me from my civil duty. Right, Miss Potion?
At some point, the room emptied for everyone to get their makeup on and get dressed before the show started. It was just me, my mom, and Joel quietly talking. I was fairly quiet, happy for the lull in activity, and digesting the day before me. I fielded some simple phone calls from Joyce, our DOC, had lunch ordered, and finished my letter to Mr. Genie. I also checked on the guys’ status, without talking to Mr. Genie. Apparently, he was talking to Joyce too. Before I knew it, my mom was done, I was done, and Sara was at the door, followed by my girls.

The bridesmaids were dressed, lunch had been served, and it was time for me to become a bride. But not without some flower girl tickles and kisses for good luck!
