PaC Man & Wife: Secret Heart

In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Mr. PaC and I made a deal. No presents, only cards. We had just enough money after the tax debacle wiped out any surplus funds. And I had no idea what to gift my groom. So it was easier in many ways to forgo gifts.

Writing a love note to Mr. PaC…just before the card exchange

Trying not to cry as I read his sweet words

I_0649

Bursting with joy!

I_0661

Muahaha, now it’s your turn to cry, Mr. PaC!

I_0662

I think I got him.

With the card exchange complete, I was ready for our first look! But I was told to stay put. There was something else. That sneaky husband of mine didn’t keep his side of the deal!

I_0652

My guilt at not secretly buying him a gift gave way to absolute shock when I realized what he’d done!

I_0653

Château freaking d’Yquem!

For the uninitiated, this is a very, very nice bottle of Sauternes (dessert wine) on every wine lover’s wish list. My first taste of any Sauternes was Château d’Yquem—an unparalleled experience I never dreamed of repeating. And there I was, holding a bottle moments before our first look.

I_0654

My hands were shaking from excitement. Good thing my legs didn’t give out!

I_0656

And here’s Mr. PaC…grinning because he pulled one over on me!

Our Château d’Yquem will improve with age and careful cellaring. We did not drink it on our first anniversary. Nor will we drink it on our fifth. When we finally taste it many anniversaries from now, it will little resemble the wine from our wedding year. This vulnerable wine will have matured: mellowed in acidity, more complex aromas, and a spectacular lingering finish. A splendid metaphor for a great marriage, no?

Stay tuned because our first look is next!

@Mrs. Treasure & @paw: Yeh, he’s kinda awesome like that. I think I’ll keep him!

@Mrs. Pony: The card and gift exchange were the rare moments when my emotions threatened to get the best of me!

@Miss Lyre: Thank you! It was one of those gems that seems to find you mid-writing.

I LOVE reading your blogs, I wish I had found you sooner! I’m also super excited to read up about your wine! My FI and I will be doing a wine ceremony, where we seal unread love letters and a bottle of wine in a box only to be opened on an anniversary of our choosing… this may be the wine we “seal”. =)

@Miss Sword: He’s so good at being sneaky that it is a real challenge to surprise him. I brainstorm months in advance!

@KMC2Be: Awww, thank you! It means SO much to know readers are really connecting with our recaps we’ve spent a lot of time writing. Comments are great encouragement! Love the idea of your wine box and letters. You’ll want that wine sealed up so you aren’t tempted to drink it sooner than its prime.

I create a leave a response each time I especially enjoy a article on a site or if
I have something to add to the conversation. Usually it
is caused by the passion displayed in the article I read.

And on this article PaC Man & Wife: Secret Heart | Weddingbee.
I was excited enough to post a thought :) I
actually do have 2 questions for you if you usually do not mind.
Could it be just me or does it give the impression like some of the responses appear like they are left by brain dead people?
:-P And, if you are writing at other online sites, I’d like to follow you. Would you make a list the complete urls of your social pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

Undeniably consider that which you said. Your
favorite reason seemed to be on the net the easiest
thing to keep in mind of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed at the same time as other people think about issues that they plainly
don’t understand about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and also outlined out the entire thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thank you
