It’s wedding week for the Beanstalks! Our special day is just a few days away! We’re both super excited to be getting married and we can’t wait to see how everything we have planned and created comes together!
I’ve been down in Florida since Monday. I actually missed my 8:00 AM flight (Boston traffic is cRaZy) and had to wait standby for over eight hours, resulting in me missing my final dress fitting. (We rescheduled for the next day, but still.) It was a long day, and tears were definitely shed, but thanks to Mr. B I finally got on a flight. (I don’t know how he did it, but I love him for it!)
Mr. B arrived in Miami yesterday, and even though all he wanted to do was sleep (he pulled an all-nighter because he was determined not to miss his 8:00 AM flight like me), so he was exhausted! But he couldn’t sleep, not yet at least! We had business to take care of…we had to drive up to Delray Beach to get our marriage license! This had to be done that day because there is a three-day waiting period for Florida residents before you can get married. Non Florida residents don’t have to wait at all. In case you were wondering, yes I’m still a Florida resident! And even though Mr. B isn’t, we still had to allow for a three-day waiting period (all because of me). Thankfully, getting the license was a quick experience. They gave us a pamphlet and had us read over it, fill out a document, and then sign it in front of the woman who was helping us.
Mr. B is pointing out that the booklet was last updated in 1999!!! We got a kick out of that!

The handout they gave us was mainly about what to do in case of divorce—how to divide assets, and so forth. Not exactly the happily-ever-after reading material we were expecting.
Like Miss Coach, who is also getting married this weekend, we’ve been super busy with last-minute DIY crafts and assembling projects that we had mailed down to Miami. I’ve been getting a ton of help from Mama & Sister Beanstalk, which is enabling me to cross things off of my never-ending to-do list much faster! I will definitely post very soon about all of the projects and details we created to make our wedding more personal and us!
Anyone following the weather has probably seen that there is a tropical storm sweeping past Florida. Even though the forecast predicts rain the rest of the week, Sunday is all clear with sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s! I’m beyond stoked! Rain on our wedding day was never something I had planned for or factored in. (I always sort of had the mentality that it could not rain on my wedding. Therefore it would not rain that day.) Papa Beanstalk seemed to have the same attitude because last week when I checked the 10-day forecast and it said 60% chance of rain on our wedding day, he confidently told me, “It’s not going to rain on your day.” I loved that positive attitude! Rain was never a possibility…it couldn’t be. Watch, I probably just completely jinxed our wedding and now this tropical storm will turn and head straight for us!
Anyone else have an ever-long list of things to do the week of the wedding? Did you get a lot of help to make your list shorter or did you just eliminate projects to ease your sanity?
