Mrs. Wizard's Picture
Mrs. Wizard, Pittsburgh Age and Occupation: 22, Front-end Web Developer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Software Programmer Engagement Date: June 8, 2011 Wedding Date: June 2012 Venue: Glades Pike Winery, Somerset, PA About Me: I’m a born-and-raised Pittsburgh girl marrying a born-and-raised Pittsburgh dude. I’m a stubborn Italian with a huge personality, and I love oldies music, baking, housewifery, and all things Harry Potter. He’s a quiet, level-headed guy who loves my cooking and laughs good-naturedly at my lack of verbal filter. He’s an intellectual who likes to learn, and can often be found going on "Wiki walks" and landing on the most hilariously weird articles imaginable. We truly are a case of "opposites attract," and we balance each other out perfectly. We keep each other sane and make each other laugh so hard we cry almost every day, and that’s all I could ever ask for. Together we’re planning a simple, elegant, summery June wedding, and we can’t wait to be Mr. and Mrs.!
About Mrs. Wizard

Our post-ceremony portrait session produced plenty of lovely photos, but it wasn’t without some shenanigans as well. Mr. Wiz and I can rarely keep a straight face at the best of times, let alone when a camera is snapping away at us as we’re flying on the high of being newly-minted Mr. and Mrs.!

There was a willow tree that attacked us…

A fuzz on my nose and my trademark skeptical side-eye…

This was my reaction when Michael, trying to get a sweet pose out of us, told Mr. Wiz to “give her temple a little sniff”…

Immediately after which he said, “No, haha, maybe that’s weird….” Uhh, just a little!

There were these two photos that looked EXACTLY like two of our engagement photos. This is inevitably what happens when you try to get us to pose for the oh-so-trendy “serious face” shot:

Towards the end of the photo time, I started to feel a little faint…after all, I’d only eaten half a cup of yogurt and one Pop-Tart that day. But my nervous stomach had finally gone away, and I realized I was HUNGRY. I sent MOH Lefty up to the reception hall to get me a plate of cheese. Just cheese.

And cheese is exactly what I got.

Remember how I was afraid of bugs crawling in my dress at the wedding? Well, luckily I didn’t encounter any ground bees, but there were plenty of flies that found their way in there.

See the black spot towards the bottom left? That’s just one of many flies we found in my dress that day. Gross! / *

Um, and can we just talk about this picture for a second?

I laughed for about a million years when I first saw it. Best Man D looks like he’s really enjoying that bouquet, but Lefty doesn’t look so sure about it (she and I definitely have the same trademark skeptical side-eye).

Miss something? Follow along here!

First, I kick things off with our wedding video.
I go stir-crazy, and almost choke to death, the week before our wedding.
We had a pretty bad venue setup/rehearsal day.
I’m the bride with the weak stomach.
The crew arrives, and the ladies get pretty.
Hairstylist B accidentally shares a little secret!
Bride and groom exchange cards and a surprise gift.
Tying bow ties is a comedy of errors.
Finally, I become a bride!
All the little details.
A special lady gets a special gift.
Here comes the sun, and the bride (AKA our first look).
We took some family photos.
We processed, and got married!
An unexpected guest showed up and made themselves at home…right on Mr. Wiz’s head.
After the ceremony, we greeted our guests, and then headed outside for some bride and groom photo time.

Outtakes make for some of the best pictures! The name doesn’t do them justice… maybe we should call them “besttakes”?? Glad the nerves wore off enough that you were hungry again. That’s always a good sign!

I love that photo of Mr. Wiz making you laugh – it’s so sweet and candid (i’m guessing?) I am so with you on the cheese, nothing makes me feel better hahaha.
P.S. I just wanted to say that your bolero looks amazing… I love your dress + bolero in all of these portraits. Incredibly elegant… you look stunning :)

@Miss Wallaby: Haha that’s actually the one where our photographer told him to “give my temple a little sniff”…so I was WTF-laughing at that! :)
