Once everyone was in place, I called out to Macs to see if he was ready. After a double thumbs up, I took a deep breath and told myself not to start crying before he’d even seen me.

I just love this photo of Macs. His best smiles are always when he’s caught off guard.

It took what seemed forever to get to him, walking slowly over the uneven grass making sure I didn’t lose my balance or accidentally step on my dress. Those heel caps? Yeah, they didn’t help. I originally planned on tapping him on the shoulder, but after stopping several times to fix my dress (I’m not sure why I didn’t just pick up the front) I told him to turn around. I’ll let the following pictures speak for themselves.

I’m so happy we had a first look. It allowed us to take most of the formal photos before the ceremony so there was no rushing around after or concern about pulling our wedding party away from the reception. Macs isn’t much of a crier, especially in front of people. It was nice to have a moment to ourselves and let all our emotions go.
After we dried our tears and Mr. Macs finally had the correct boutonniere, we had a few pictures taken of just the two of us.
