As we made our way from the barn to the patio to start the reception, guests weaved their way through the historic home to choose their dinner from our buffet. Meanwhile, we were ushered around to the front of the house until our official introduction as husband and wife.
At this point, Mom and Dad Dalmatian took the mic to share a few words and welcome everyone to the party.
Next up in the speech line was Mr. Dalmatian’s brother and best man, who was a little nervous about speaking in front of our crowd of wedding guests. Despite his nerves, he did an amazing job as he presented us with an incredibly thoughtful and meaningful gift that we will always cherish. It was a framed knot that shared its name with our last name.
The last but certainly not least speech was given by my beautiful pair of MOHs, Sister A and Sister K. Their sweet words did a wonderful job of capturing both my relationship with Mr. Dalmatian and our bond as sisters, two things that truly mean the world to me.
When we made our way to the sweetheart table, our plates of delicious food were waiting for us, and I did not hesitate to dive in! The staff had asked us beforehand what we wanted on our plates, so we did not have to worry about going through the buffet line, or having a sad tale of never getting to eat (something I hear happens to lots of brides and grooms that I definitely wanted to avoid).
My heart was full after hearing the wonderful words shared by our families, and my belly was full of phenomenal food. What can I say, I was one happy bride. Next up, we put on our dancing shoes (OK, I was already in flats—but I was about to start putting them to good use)!
