Mrs. Castle's Picture
Mrs. Castle, NYC/Southern California Age and Occupation: 26, Actress/Babysitter Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Actor/Writer/Graphic Designer Engagement Date: January 1, 2011 Wedding Date: April 2012 Venue: Padua Hills Theater About Me: I am a Southern California girl living in the Big Apple. I moved here to put my degree in Musical Theater to work! My survival job is caregiver to an adorable 2 1/2 year old. When I'm not working, auditioning or rehearsing, I am hanging out at home with my FI and our two beloved cats. I love to read, sing, dance, hang with friends, and spend quality time with Mr. Castle watching our favorite TV shows (LOST, Big Bang Theory, and Mythbusters...to name a few). Mr Castle and I met while performing in college, so it is only fitting that our wedding take place at an old theater. We are planning a vintage, theater-inspired wedding with some DIY projects and plenty of personal touches thrown in. I love living in the city but I am excited to marry my man in the state where we fell in love.

We Start Today: Group Photo!

November 30th, 2012 @ 6:08 am by Mrs. Castle

Our recessional song started playing, “Married Life” from UP. We strolled down the aisle in a newlywed daze.

After we all made our way down the aisle we went straight over to a side patio area. We waited for the rest of our guests to join us so we could take a large group photo!

All 150 of our guests in one photo!

Of course we had to take a funny one, which I guess to most people means put your arms up in the air.

I love zooming in on all of these group shots and seeings where everyone was standing and what they were doing. I’m sure some of you are curious about the logistics of getting all of our guests together for a photo. Well, once again I have to commend our amazing vendors on that one. Right after the ceremony our MC/DJ Brent from Entertainment Express made an announcement to please follow the Bride and Groom to the side patio for a group photo. Then the staff at Padua Hills sort of herded everyone to the location.

I might have just been in a wedding haze, but it really didn’t seem to take very long to gather everyone together. Our vendors gave such clear directions. No one was confused and everything went smoothly!

After this our guests went straight into cocktail hour while we went to take more photos with our family and bridal party.

Would you ever consider doing a group photo?

What a fun idea! I too love looking back at our midnight picture and seeing what each person was doing! Your group shots turned out so well – such a great memory to have.

Question on your song for Married Life. Was there a special cut you used? Obviously the end of that song is heartbreakingly sad. I LOVE the idea, but I’m curious if you kept it in, let it fade out or if there’s an alternate version?

Also, I LOVE the group shots! Our wedding will only be about 65-70 people. I think we could potentially manage that!

What great shots! I was at a wedding where they did this, love the idea.

So cool! I thought about doing this — we probably could have had Rozy up in my mom’s bathroom window to do it — but it was hard enough getting all of our family/wedding party together for pictures.

I love these photos and the video portion showing the gathering, it makes me want to have a smaller guest list just to do this.

@whomajigi: I think they faded the song out after everyone made it down the aisle, but I really don’t remember. I do know that everyone made it down the aisle before the end of the song, the sad part, so even if it did play no one was paying attention anymore.

The background of your ceremony is so beautiful, Mrs. Castle – the orange lights behind the dresses is so stunning. I love your setting. :)

I’m a big fan of group shots. We have a balcony at our space, so we’ll be utilizing that.

I love group photos! We didn’t have anywhere to really get a good shot, so I’m always jealous of these types of photos :)

I love entire wedding guest shots! If nothing else, you know you’ve got a photo with everyone you love who was there to elaborate your day. Definitely something special!
