Mrs. Castle's Picture
Mrs. Castle, NYC/Southern California Age and Occupation: 26, Actress/Babysitter Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Actor/Writer/Graphic Designer Engagement Date: January 1, 2011 Wedding Date: April 2012 Venue: Padua Hills Theater About Me: I am a Southern California girl living in the Big Apple. I moved here to put my degree in Musical Theater to work! My survival job is caregiver to an adorable 2 1/2 year old. When I'm not working, auditioning or rehearsing, I am hanging out at home with my FI and our two beloved cats. I love to read, sing, dance, hang with friends, and spend quality time with Mr. Castle watching our favorite TV shows (LOST, Big Bang Theory, and Mythbusters...to name a few). Mr Castle and I met while performing in college, so it is only fitting that our wedding take place at an old theater. We are planning a vintage, theater-inspired wedding with some DIY projects and plenty of personal touches thrown in. I love living in the city but I am excited to marry my man in the state where we fell in love.

We Start Today: Family Formals

December 2nd, 2012 @ 2:41 pm by Mrs. Castle

I know family formal posts aren’t always the most exciting…so I included some photos of food at the end. :) But honestly, although they might not be as exciting as getting ready or detail shots, they are important photos to have. These are the photos that make Mom, Dad, and grandparents so happy. It was also fun to spend some time with our family taking pictures right after the ceremony. We started off the family shots with Mr. Castle’s family.

Next we got some of those photos we missed out on taking before the ceremony.

My parents and I got a photo together. I am so thankful for this photo because I will probably never have another opportunity to take a picture with both of my parents together.

Me and my brothers

There are more, but I’ve shown you the best ones. We got through the family photos very quickly. Those who were not in photos, like our bridal party and other family members, were off to the side enjoying their pre-ordered drinks and cocktail hour hor d’oeuvres.

Goat cheese pizza. Yum.

We also had rumaki (bacon rapped dates), but we don’t have a photo of those. Probably because they didn’t last very long! Like I said, family photos took no time at all. Our photographers released our family into the cocktail hour and called our bridal party up for some pictures. Up next: our bridal-party shots!

I personally love family formals, and everyone in them looks both so sharply dressed and so happy: you can just feel the happiness coming out of them which is so great (and why I love them so much!)

That’s great that you were able to take a picture with both of your parents! :-)

Love that you got both your parents in one picture! We skipped it to avoid drama and I wish we hadn’t.

I really like Mr. Castle’s Mother of the Groom dress! Very lovely color. Do you happen to know where it’s from?

@sarahblais: She got it at Macy’s. Not sure the designer but I know that’s where she got it! :)

Our family photos a bit more painful and took longer than yours! I think yours came out really nicely!
