Paper is one of those things that I absolutely love. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved back to school shopping, mainly because I loved getting new pens and notebooks. Nowadays, I really could get lost in Paper Source for hours. Thus, I always knew that invitations were one place that I wanted to splurge a little.
Invitations by Dauphine Press (Kentfield)
I recognize that very few people will appreciate the work put into them, but a lot of it is for me. Now that we’re six months out (!), and the reveal of Miss Gray Wolf’s invitation suite (seriously, how gorgeous was it… oh, my heart be still), I think it’s about time we actually think about what type of invitations we actually want.
I recognize that picking a design is half the battle, but there are just so many pretty invitations out there. The invitations that I’ve really loved during our search included:
Invitations by Bella Figura (Hendrix 2)
Invitations by Golden Rectangle Press
Looking at my inspirations, I think it’s obvious—I really love invitations that have a border completely around the words, where the design is the predominant element. I like whimsical, floral, pretty elements.
Also, I love letterpress. Oh my gosh, a gorgeous letterpress invitation with its thick paper and the clean crisp lines. Swoon. There is something about letterpress that I have a hard time describing but I just absolutely adore. I think it’s the indentions. I just love running my hand over a great letterpress card. And… I’m going to stop talking before I get too creepy now.
