Last Saturday, I met up with Melissa for my makeup trial. If you remember, I’d worked with her in a previous wedding, and had ideas for bold eyes and lips for the big day.
First, the dreaded “before” shot, because I love you all:

Oof. Ignore my Hermione hair as well.
I told her that I wanted it to be obvious that I was at a formal, evening event. She said that sometimes she works with brides that are somewhat timid about makeup…but I told her to bring it on.

BM G documented for me the blog.
I had some pretty aggressive falsies; if one photo could make the case for using fake lashes, it’s this one:

I mean, sheesh. Look at those things!
Here’s my final look:

I scheduled my trial now because I also had my company’s fancy holiday party that night, and the thought of letting the work go to waste made me itchy.

Me and my work girlfriend, Q.
The lighting here isn’t the greatest but I figure my wedding will be low lit too, so this is probably what I’ll look like most of the evening. I got a red lip just because that fit my holiday party, but for the big day I’ll do more of a coral, a la this photo:

I was pretty pleased, and can’t wait to see how the coral lip looks with my ivory gown. If anyone has a rec for a good coral lip stain, let me know! Did anyone else get to try out their makeup trial in public?
