Hey hive, guess what finally came in the mail?

That’s right—our wedding photos! And you know what that means—recaps! Are y’all ready for this?! (Cue Space Jam theme song.)

Mr. Wallaby and I just celebrated our one-month anniversary. One month! We feel like we’ve been married 10 years already! Since we got back from New Zealand and Australia, we’ve been getting back into our regular routine: catching up with friends and family (while obnoxiously showing off honeymoon photos), cooking meals together with our fancy-pants new kitchen tools from our registry, working longer hours at work, and watching too much TV. It’s also really nice to get married right before the holidays, because we have something new to look forward to—I haven’t experienced any post-wedding depression. I miss wedding planning, but I’m loving the extra free time.

Since our wedding, some things have changed, and some things have stayed the same. I have a new last name (although I’ve yet to introduce myself as Mrs. Newlastname—old habits die hard, people). I have a new house, and a new (sexy) roommate. We haven’t combined our finances yet, but when that happens in the next couple weeks, I know a lot more will change. What hasn’t changed is our relationship itself. We’re still us. Two engineers happily in love. Our bond is stronger than ever, and we both are definitely, definitely walking on Cloud Nine in newlywed bliss.

I can’t think of any better way to kick off the recaps than with one of my favorite photos of the whole day. It captures the sheer joy that Mr. W and I shared on that day, surrounded by all of our favorite people:

Some drama went down, a whole lot of happy tears (and snot) were shed, a few things didn’t go as planned…but we made it out of there with two left-hand rings and a cache of amazing memories.
