My Post-Wedding Chop

December 19th, 2012 @ 1:24 pm by Mrs. Treasure

I wrote about my pre-wedding chop, but six months later I found myself craving an even shorter style. Yesterday, I decided enough was enough and went from this:

To this:

I love it! (And yes, I am wearing the same T-shirt from the before picture.) It’s a medium-length bob that’s slightly angled in the front. Before, my hair was all one length. Now, it has long layers and some shorter pieces around my face. I can still pull it into a (very short) ponytail for when I work out, but I can keep it down for professional events now that it doesn’t look sloppy.

What do you think? Have you ever gotten a drastic haircut on a whim?

The layered bob looks fantastic on you! Will you maintain it for a while or do you think you’ll grow it out again? The most drastic thing I’ve ever done with my hair were these fun bangs a few years ago. My hair grows really slowly so that’s always hindered me from doing anything too drastic.

Cute! // I did the PWC, too, but completely regretted it. lol My hair isn’t as as smooth and straight so it sticks out every which way.

Ahh, love it! That cut totally flatters your face shape and is super chic. I wish I could do something dramatic with my hair, but no matter which way I cut it, it just looks “shorter.” One of the detriments to having curly hair, I guess!

@Miss Mongoose: I think I’ll keep it short for a while. I think it looks better on me because I have such flat hair. When it’s longer, it gets weighed down and has no volume. This cut is so bouncy! I love it!

@mnp and @Miss Armadillo: The flip side of having smooth, straight hair is that this is pretty much all it does. The grass is always greener, huh?

@Mrs. Wallaby: Thanks!

It looks great! I actually cut my hair from about that length to a pixie last year as a reward to myself for losing 50 lbs… I always wanted short hair. Definitely love yours! :)

@Kay1126: I wish I was brave enough to attempt a pixie! Maybe someday.

@Mrs. Treasure: lol it took some getting used to! Get used to your current length first ;)

I really like those cuts on other people- my hair is too curly and unruly to pull it off without straightening every single day and I just don’t have time or energy. I got a drastic haircut when I was a teenager- I went from butt-length to pixie cut in one fell swoop on a whim. No one recognized me at school the next day. I didn’t regret it, either, although it was a lot of upkeep that I’m not sure I’d be willing to do again. Now my hair is mid-back-length and I don’t intend to do a post-wedding chop. Long hair for me is easier, a LOT more wash-and-go than any short style I’ve ever had.

I really like it! You look super cute! I am sooooo looking forward to my PWC. My hair is getting insanely long. I might do a pre-WC too…
