It’s been a bit quiet here in the Panda house last few weeks with the holidays and such (sorry!). PBear and I had been madly rushing to finish the semester, so it’s been really great to forget about school for a few days and spend the holidays with our families.
So what have we been up to?
1) Getting the first gift off of our registry. You know the Cusinart Griddler that I drooled over a while back? Guess what showed up on our doorstep a few days after Thanksgiving. Is it as amazing as I thought it would be? Yes. Yes, OMG, yes. I am in love with this thing.
2) Buying ornaments for centerpieces. I plan on using a lot of birds for our centerpieces to tie in the garden theme.
Hey hive! I’ve been on a brief blogging hiatus over the holidays since Mr. W and I are spending the week with my family up in Seattle. My heart is so happy—it was incredible to share all of my family’s Christmas traditions with Mr. W for the first time. I basked in the comfort of my childhood home, and I showed off all of our goofy homemade Christmas decorations that little brother J and I made when we were kids. (The original DIY!)
The last few days have been filled with dad jokes, stomachaches from too many cookies (who, me?), raunchy rounds of Apples to Apples, and lots of holiday cheer. My favorite memory is of cross-country skiing up at Mount Baker with Mr. W and my dad. The trees were cloaked in blankets of snow; the trails were just icy enough to glide along—everything was perfect.

So much for being outback-loving marsupials.

Yellow is my favorite color.

| Check me out over the years…always rocking yellow. Also, so it appears, always drinking |
For as long as I can remember, yellow has always been my go-to. Although many women may disagree, I think so many people look GREAT in yellow! (Especially blondes!) My girl Ali Fedotowsky is on the same page:
Since we are at about the half way point until our wedding day, wanted to share some great photos from our engagement shoot. In the beginning I was pretty adamant against engagement shoots. I just thought that the majority of them were so cheesy, what with couples holding each other in Prom poses while gazing off into a field. Needless to say, I was pretty set on not doing this.
When we were choosing our photographers however, we noticed that the majority of them included engagement pics as part of the overall package. FH was all about it (he just loves a good deal!), so I begrudgingly agreed. I told him though that we had to make it very clear to our photogs that we would want to be photographed doing things we actually enjoy.
Fast forward to July when we had already chosen the wonderful Samara and Chris of the Montreal-based photography company Sarelle Photos as our photographers. We were gearing up for our second wedding planning trip out to Montreal since we had some vendor meetings lined up, so decided to do our engagement shoot during that trip as well. (Side note: I had also scheduled my hair and makeup trial for the morning of the shoot—this is a great way to see if the work your hair and makeup artist do will hold up the entire day and photograph well.)
Hello, hive! I hope everyone has had a very enjoyable holiday season. I’m back to share our engagement photos with you! I just received these and I couldn’t wait to share them with you guys.
