My fiancé is an athletic, intellectual, animal-loving guy with an obsession with basketball and who treats me with the deepest compassion and respect. We are both engineers, and we met at our workplace. Together we complement one another and make a great team, and we are excitedly counting down the days until our outdoor wedding in Houston in November. We're planning a green wedding with lots of Persian cultural touches, and I can't wait to share all of the before-and-after details of our special day

Happy Holidays from the Wallabies!

December 26th, 2012 @ 3:30 pm by Mrs. Wallaby

Hey hive! I’ve been on a brief blogging hiatus over the holidays since Mr. W and I are spending the week with my family up in Seattle. My heart is so happy—it was incredible to share all of my family’s Christmas traditions with Mr. W for the first time. I basked in the comfort of my childhood home, and I showed off all of our goofy homemade Christmas decorations that little brother J and I made when we were kids. (The original DIY!)

The last few days have been filled with dad jokes, stomachaches from too many cookies (who, me?), raunchy rounds of Apples to Apples, and lots of holiday cheer. My favorite memory is of cross-country skiing up at Mount Baker with Mr. W and my dad. The trees were cloaked in blankets of snow; the trails were just icy enough to glide along—everything was perfect.

So much for being outback-loving marsupials. ;) / Personal photo

This is the first time my whole family has been assembled since the wedding, so we’ve been rehashing memories of the wedding and looking through all of the photos. Since Mr. W is missing Christmas in Houston, we’re having a big post-Christmas fiesta back home next weekend. I’m trying really hard not to get sick of leftover turkey just yet. ;)

For Mr. W and me, this is what it’s all about. The wedding was amazing and we had a blast planning it, but now on the flip side of wedding planning, we are totally enjoying relaxing with our families and focusing on new Wallaby traditions.

We have so much to be grateful for this year. And I wanted to say thanks to you, dear hive, for all of your support, wisdom, and hilarious GIFs. Happy holidays!

xoxo,

Mrs. Wallaby
