Mrs. Panda's Picture
Miss Panda, Boston, MA Age and Occupation: 26, Graduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Graduate Student Engagement Date: June 27, 2011 Wedding Date: June 2013 About Me: I love window shopping, cute animals, crafting, baking, and most forms of procrastination. I tend to be overly meticulous with choices to a point of complete and total indecision. Mr. PBear and I met and live in the amazing city of Boston. We are big nerds who love trying new foods, playing video games, and cuddling with our adorable hamster. After 5 years together, we are planning an intimate, DIY-heavy, vintage garden themed, nonreligious wedding in the city where we fell in love.
About Mrs. Panda

It’s been a bit quiet here in the Panda house last few weeks with the holidays and such (sorry!). PBear and I had been madly rushing to finish the semester, so it’s been really great to forget about school for a few days and spend the holidays with our families.

So what have we been up to?

1) Getting the first gift off of our registry. You know the Cusinart Griddler that I drooled over a while back? Guess what showed up on our doorstep a few days after Thanksgiving. Is it as amazing as I thought it would be? Yes. Yes, OMG, yes. I am in love with this thing.

2) Buying ornaments for centerpieces. I plan on using a lot of birds for our centerpieces to tie in the garden theme.

So what better time to get them than when the Christmas ornaments go on clearance? I bought the one from Anthropologie one morning, when I spotted a similar bird for a sixth of the price later that afternoon in Michaels. *sigh* I haven’t decided if I’m keeping both of them yet.

They are both super cute.

3) Getting a better camera. I’ve been wanting a better camera for forever. Yay! Better camera means prettier pictures for blogging! Yay!

4) Taking engagement pictures (maybe). This will have its own post, but a neighbor of ours has offered to take some pictures of us tomorrow, which we might use as engagement pictures.

5) Hunting unsuccessfully for a Lifestyle Letterpress Kit. We need to start making our invitations soon, but unbeknownst to me, apparently all of the craft stores in our area have stopped carrying it. What? *sigh*

6) Eating way too many delicious baked goods. Who has a slightly too small dress that she needs to fit into in half a year? Clearly if it was me, I would be smart enough not to eat all of those cookies and this lava cake, right? Right? You try resisting this, though.

It was as delicious as it looks.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. On behalf of the whole Panda Clan, I just want to wish everyone a (slightly belated) Happy Holidays. I hope yours were as marvelous as ours were.

Did you get that wedding-related gift you were eyeing? Or get distracted from all that DIY’ing while your relatives were around? Did wedding planning seep into the holidays for anyone else?

Looks like you had an absolutely fantastic holiday! So glad you received the griddle you loved: we received the crockpot we wanted so badly recently and were SO happy!! And I like the Michael’s bird even more than the Anthropologie one…crazy that it was that much cheaper!!

I purchased the L-Letterpress starter kit a few weeks ago from the Hobby Lobby website and it was 40% off! Try there, I heard its been discontinued, so snap it up when you find it.

Um I think I need that Griddler. As someone who lives in an apartment that doesn’t allow outdoor grills, it looks awesome.

@Miss Bat: I agree, I do think the Michaels one might be a little bit cuter. However, I couldn’t find enough of them at Michaels for all of the tables. I think I’m going to need some of the anthropologie ones to make it. =/ oh well
@missmorganista: ooh that sounds amazing. need to go update my registry…
@Darlene: @sschwartz79: seriously, you guys are the best. I didn’t even think of Hobby Lobby since we don’t have one in these parts. I bought it online at 40% off and free shipping! yay! I can stop worrying about it!
@Miss Camel: @Mrs. Pony: Omg it is the most amazing thing ever. We’ve used it to grill, make paninis, make pancakes and french toast. It can do everything.
@Monti: =)
@Mrs. Fox: I agree, I’m in love with them. I don’t know how I’m going to use them yet, but I think it’ll be a nice touch

After the planning of the wedding, talk goes for the holidays and planning for the holidays are very important to avoid any kind of pitfall in the journey or living. Living for small thing makes the holidays more beautiful.

@Miss Panda: I have the same griddler and use it constantly to make uber-unhealthy paninis.
@Miss Bat: So excited for you on the crock pot. You literally can make anything (even baked goods) in it! Check out food.com for their spectacular crock pot recipes!
