After a legal ceremony in Germany, we're planning a down-to-earth (semi-destination) wedding with our friends and family in the US.
About Mrs. Bracelet

I’m sorry to have kept y’all waiting for so long. I told you about my inspiration and trying on dresses (in bridal salons and from BHLDN), but never actually showed you my ladies’ final choice! My bad!

As three out of four bridesmaids don’t live in the U.S., I was the “eyes and ears” for my bridesmaids’ dress shopping. I scouted out options, but left the final choice up to my ladies. I sent them pictures of me in different dresses to vote upon. First they ranked the dresses according to which style they liked best (with one clear winner), and then decided on the dress color (according to photos of swatch cards and digital mock-ups).

…and the winner is:

BM E (the “local”) and I went to pick up the dresses back in June at After 5 and Weddings in Bozeman, MT. But what about the “international” bridesmaids, you might ask? With a lot of squishing and some packing tape, the dresses were on their merry way to Germany.

How did you decide on a dress? And has anyone else had international bridesmaids?

I let them pick out $50 dresses from Target’s winter line, same color and length. I was so overwhelmed. They’re all such different sizes (literally 2-20 and 5’1- 6’1). It was impossible and I know no one’s really happy with them but they are the right color and style for my wedding.
We all can pretend our BM’s are going to wear the dresses we force on them again, but they’re not, so why make them spend over $100 on it?

I don’t have international bridesmaids but i have cross country – from near New York border with Canada to San Diego, CA.

Plus I have sizes from 5’3″ – 5’9″ and size 6 – size 22.

I picked out three dresses in the same fabric and color by an affordable designer, then told them to pick their choice. All three wound up picking the same dress. I will also have to pick them up and mail them out.

If you can do it to Germany, you give me hope San Diego will work out. :)

They’re beautiful!

I went with J. Crew. My bridesmaids were here (one has an office down the hall!), Annapolis, and Boston. J. Crew had the color I wanted to use and I was pretty sure everyone would know their size and not need to make too much of a trip to try a dress on.

I wound up buying and shipping some of the dresses…I was definitely a little nervous to put them into the hands of the post office!
