Mrs. Unicorn's Picture
Mrs. Unicorn, Atlanta, Georgia Age and Occupation: 22, Retail Sales Consultant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 22, Graphic Designer Engagement Date: November 27, 2011 Wedding Date: September 2012 Venue: The Farm About Me: I’m an impatient, impulsive person with a creative side and a flair for the dramatic. I’m very much a DIY sort of girl, and I have the messy craft table to prove it. I worked at a veterinary clinic for the better part of seven years before diving headfirst into the totally different world of sales. I must say, the change has been one for the better; I no longer have clients that bite or scratch, nor does my workplace smell of kitty litter. My true passion, however, is aerial acrobatics and dance, and I hope to open my own studio one day. Mr. Unicorn doesn’t bat an eye when he comes home from work to find his fiancée hanging upside down from a pole. Together, we enjoy shooting things (with a camera), playing Xbox games (my strategy consists primarily of button-mashing), and enjoying the company of our spoiled pit bull named Leeloo. We are planning a fall wedding with lots of DIY details and a rustic-chic vibe. Our budget is tight, but we know we can work around it to plan the wedding we want.
About Mrs. Unicorn

The week leading up to the wedding was CRAZY. I remember running around like a headless chicken, calling vendors, finalizing details, and putting the finishing touches on my DIY projects. A lot of the smaller stuff simply didn’t get done. For example, I didn’t get a chance to screen-print the front of our guest book with a cutesy logo. The infamous yarn letters were also an epic failure that never saw the light of day.

Needless to say, it was a HUGE relief when the day of my bachelorette party arrived. One by one, bridesmaids started trickling in. We got the music blasting, the drinks flowing, and penis-shaped pasta cooking.

At this point I’d like to interrupt this blog post to bring your attention to the following warning:

Mythmatched: The Bachelorette Party : wedding atlanta bachelorette party WARNING WARNING

Moving right along.

Since we are responsible party people, we decided to take the subway down to Tongue and Groove for the evening. If you would—please close your eyes and imagine a group of scantily clad ladies, armed to the teeth with glow-sticks and balloons riding the subway…

Or I could just show you the photographic evidence.

Once we made it to the club, we were shocked to discover that the online reservations I had made were mysteriously lost. In the end, it was a blessing in disguise. The manager was very apologetic and gave us the nicest VIP table with a complimentary bottle of champagne. Nothin’ like some free champagne to start the night off! Am I right, hive?

At some point someone ordered a round of shots, and I vaguely remember a bottle of vodka…

The rest of the evening is kind of a blur, but somebody clearly remembered to take pictures.

Overall, a fantastic night with the Unicorn Bridesmaids! / Personal photo.

At the end of the night, we piled into a cab and headed back home.

Up next: The Unicorns rehearse…well, sort of.

I may be wrong but I thought that part of the fun of bachelorette parties was to dress up and have a laugh. I am sure that Mrs. Unicorn does not wear this sort of thing to pop down the shops! It looks like you had an epic time.

It was a blast. And no this is not a typical outfit for me, but it was fun to wear on this one crazy night. I think I enjoyed playing an exhibitionist for a night.

I’m just jealous I don’t have the body to go out in an outfit like that. Good for you for wearing what you want on your bachelorette night. It looks like you had a great time!

Love the fedora with the boots. Props to you for wearing them the whole night. I would have broke both my ankles in less than 5 minutes!

We had the same shaped pasta at my party. . . Luckily one of my girls kept the box so she could show me later. It was actually from a box called. . .wait for it. . .Mac A Weenie and Cheese!!!

Imagine being the person responsible for naming it!! I almost died!! So funny!

Your party looks like so much fun… but I’m mostly jealous at how clean your subway station is!! Chicago does not look that good! Hahaha

Fun!

Don’t listen to the naysayers… they are probably just jealous of how hot you look in your outfit and how much fun you obviously had.
