Before we move into the reception, I’d like to share some of the finer details.

These next two pictures show off the variety of centerpieces we went with. The tall arrangements were calla lilies, and the short arrangements were hydrangea and roses wrapped in larger green leaves.

I asked for a lush arrangement at the sweetheart table. Cristina selected hydrangea, tuberoses, orchids and lilies. I was not disappointed.

This beautiful arrangement sat on the bar. I hadn’t planned on anything there, so I thank Cristina for thinking of adding some color to the cocktail area.

Much like everything else, we wanted a simple white cake for cutting. I was inspired by Mrs. Starfish’s pearl-trimmed cake. I asked for a flower topper of white orchids.

One of my best friends made us a guest book quilt. She chose a bookshelf pattern with little details that represented Mr. Genie and me. I left a little explanation for our guests to sign on the book spines. There may have been some confusion, but I can’t wait to see the finished product!

The personalized Scrabble coasters that MOH Wino and I made for each guest added a spark of personality to the room that I was concerned would be lacking. And in the background, you can see one of the IKEA-framed, die-cut table numbers.
