Mrs. Candy Apple's Picture
Mrs. Candy Apple, Princeton Junction, NJ/ Seattle, WA Age and Occupation: 26, Project Editor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Attorney Engagement Date: May 9, 2010 Wedding Date: August 2011 Venue: St. Joseph's Parish, Seattle Tennis Club About Me: I am a Pacific Northwesterner, born and bred. I have lived in many cities---Santa Clara, Durham (England); Florence; Boston; Princeton Junction---but my heart will always be nestled up near the Cascades and Olympics, which is why we are holding our wedding there. I am a bookworm and a History nerd: I love that my life consists of books, books, and more books, since I work in Publishing! Recently, all waking time not consumed by work and my daily commute has been overtaken by wedding planning. Well, that, and watching Premier-League soccer. There is nothing I love more than a good Tana French mystery, traveling to new places, Anthropologie shopping sprees, Iittala dishware, Kate Spade shoes, impeccable typefaces (think: Archer), and a nice English ale (hellooo, Old Speckled Hen!). Oh, and did I mention my obsession with wedding blogs? Yeah, there’s that too. Join Mr. Candy Apple and me as we prep for our wedding, and, more importantly, our marriage!
About Mrs. Candy Apple

Once we had wrapped up our “formal” bride and groom shots, we raced back to the Club to get bridal party pictures. We rallied the troops and dragged them out to the tennis court. The light was super harsh that day, so it was a bit tricky getting pictures in the sun, but I absolutely love all of the below photos. Mainly because they include our best friends all in one place, but hey, the pretty photography is nice too.

We took a few pictures on the tennis courts, but the light was super harsh and the pictures weren’t turning out how Sarah and Chris wanted, so we headed off to the dock!

Of course we have to get some formal posed shots. Everyone is so squinty!

Our poor ring-bearer—he was a little bit stressed out during the pictures. I think he was nervous! Everyone was trying to calm him down a bit.

Handsome boys being serious. And squinty.

And, the boys being their normal selves and joking that they were going to throw Mr. CA off the dock.

One with the little ring-bearer. Isn’t his bow-tie the cutest?! I was obsessed.

Me and the boys. These guys are like brothers to me! Well, two of them actually are, now, but you know what I mean.

Me and my girls (including our little Junior BM). Best friends I could ever ask for.

I gave all of the BMs pearl earrings as their BM gift (who doesn’t like pearl earrings?!). I can’t recall specifically which earrings I purchased, but I got them on super-sale at Macy’s (don’t you love how they are ALWAYS having sales?!). Little Junior BM received a small pearl bracelet (via the same sale), mainly because I couldn’t remember if her ears were pierced. All of them also received one of these mugs and one of these journals. I was so happy that they all wore their earrings the day of the wedding! I honestly hadn’t expected them to, so it was fun to see them wearing their gifts.

BFFs and college roommates.

Ha, I don’t know why but this picture always cracks me up. I just think it is the cutest thing.

Since the GMs had been drinking, I was nervous that when they were joking about tossing him in the water, someone would slip and accidentally get thrown in. Needless to say, I was happy when we got off that dock!

The brothers.

Me and my two bestest friends. Once since 3rd grade and the other since Kindergarten! I consider them to be my other sisters.

My”twin” cousin (born a day after me) and my sister. My family is the best!

After all of those pictures out on the dock in the sun, we were all getting a bit wilted and tired. I was definitely ready to get back into the shade and, well, to get married! So with one last kiss from Mr. CA, we headed back up to find the limo. It was time for the ceremony!

Did you have fun bridal party shots or did you go the more formal, posed route? Or was there a mix of both? What gifts did you give your bridesmaids/groomsmen?

Recaps commenced. Sort of.

I got over my dress regret.

We made it official. Legally.

I stressed out big time.

We did some last-minute prep.

We rehearsed.

Our wedding day arrived!

The little details fell into place.

I got all gussied up.

The guys got ready.

We had a first look.

Mr. CA and I took “formal” portraits.

@Busola: The color was called “dusky lavender.” I am not sure if they sell that exact same shade anymore (since we got these about two years ago), but it looks like they have a similar color on the website now called “dried lavender.”

Their colors change from season to season, and I think you would want to check in-person to see how it looks, but I imagine it is fairly similar.
