Mrs. Armadillo's Picture
Mrs. Armadillo, Houston, Texas Age and Occupation: 23, Graduate Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Armed Security Officer Engagement Date: September 28, 2011 Wedding Date: March 2013 Venue: First Presbyterian Church/Bay City Civic Center About Me: I’m an oldies-loving, board game-playing, coffee addicted fine arts junkie from Southeast Texas in pursuit of her master’s degree in communication studies who met the goofy, strong, artistic, and unexpected love of her life in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas. Serendipity threw us together again and again (and again) on our college campus before we eventually stuck, but when we finally did submit to destiny, we hit the ground running and never looked back! We’re planning a religious, small town, budget-friendly, DIY-infused “winter becomes springtime” ceremony and reception to celebrate the beginning of our lives together with the people we love the most, and are pouring our hearts and souls into making sure our wedding represents us as a couple down to the nitty gritty details and balances tradition with the quirky individuality that is uniquely and unequivocally “us”!

Update on the $25 Wedding Band!

January 22nd, 2013 @ 5:22 am by Mrs. Armadillo

Hey, guys! Remember when I shared my $25 Amazon find for Mr. A’s wedding band? Well, I took the leap and ordered a similar one after that particular seller no longer had Mr. A’s size…and IT IS PERFECTION. Seriously, Metal Masters on Amazon.com shipped the ring super quickly, and it came in perfect, flawless condition, exactly as described. Mr. A totally loves it, and it most definitely does NOT look like it only cost 25 bucks. I’m so happy!! Wanna see?

First, as a refresher, here’s a picture of the ring from Amazon.com:

And here’s the ring IRL:

Now, I’m not telling you what to do or anything, but…those of you who are looking for inexpensive wedding band alternatives, check out this seller! I personally couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and I know Mr. A is totally satisfied with his ring. Now he just has to wait eight more weeks before he can officially wear it!!

Did you get a steal on one or more of your wedding bands for either yourself or your significant other? Anyone else L-O-V-E the feeling of a bargain like I do? (25 STINKIN’ BUCKS! I can’t believe it!)

Love it!!! Like I said before, it’s pretty much identical to Mr. W’s ring, which we got for $40 off Etsy. Definitely love a good bargain, and after >2 months (just celebrated our Kardashiversary! woot!) Mr. W is still loving it and wearing it everywhere, even to bed at night.

Man…Miss A, you again have me kicking myself on an already painful Tuesday back at work :) I am SO happy you found a great steal! I am sure many bees will benefit from this.

What an incredible value! When so many things relating to the wedding day seem to cost multiple times what one would like to pay, this is truly exciting! Thanks for sharing! :)

We bought both of our wedding bands at the PX on the base where we our stationed. My husband’s was $99, made out of titanium. Mine was $129 and 14 carat white gold. Since we bought them on a military installation, they were also tax-free.

Of course, in order to do this you need to know someone with a military ID (my husband is in the Army). You can’t buy stuff on post without one.

I got a nearly identical ring for my husband, except his is yellow gold plated. He’s been wearing it for over a year now and never takes it off. There is not one single scratch on it! I was afraid the gold-plating would quickly wear off, but it looks the same today as it did the day we bought it. His was also $25!

Not that all guys have a problem with this, but I know my uncle has lost his wedding band THREE times! My dad has lost his twice… just another reason not to spend a ton of money on Mr. Lemur’s wedding band ;)

I got my husband’s for $40 on Etsy too!! Such a great deal. And when he loses it (which i KNOW he will), it won’t break the bank to get another one!

We purchased my husband’s wedding band from Metal Master’s on Amazon.com too! We couldn’t be happier. It’s SUPER strong… he drops it on cement all the time lol. Plus, you can’t beat the price! Here’s what his looks like:

Thanks SO much for the idea!! My fiance and I are looking into buying one off Amazon now too. I mentioned it to him over a text and said we can look through them tonight and he’s already sent them three pictures of one’s that he likes. :)

We got a 9mm ring in tungsten carbide from Metal Masters for $18 on Amazon and it came in last week. It is INCREDIBLE! My FI LOOOOOOOOOOVES it and it looks like it costs $300. The thing has some weight to it, too. It’s awesome.

I got my husband either a titanium or tungsten(can’t remember which) off Amazon also. It too was inexpensive. Somewhere between $28 and $40 I think. It is grey with a subtle hammered finish and he LOVES it. And my husband has pretty expensive taste in things. I offered to buy him a gold ring or more expensive ring but he loves this one. It has held up amazingly and has a comfortable fit too. I wish it had been a lighter color…more like stainless steel is(they also are nice for wedding bands) or had a more defined hammer finish. I think the things I’d change though are the very things he likes about it. I’ve grown to love it too.

SO thought his aunt and uncle’s $2,500 (platinum) wedding bands were a good deal. It is to laugh. He has been…educated.
