Beauty Inspiration for the Big Day

With my hair & makeup trial coming up in a month, I’ve been scouring the interwebs to find the perfect looks and started off with hairstyles. I pinned ones that would look great with a feather fascinator and veil, like the images below.

But ultimately I fell in love with this Tyra Banks hairstyle. It’s a side bob with a structured wave.

If the wave is too difficult to execute, I’d be OK with something like this.

I’m still deciding on the exact makeup look, but I know I’d like a somewhat smokey eye and possibly eyeshadow with gold tones. For lips, I’m not sure yet, but nude seems to be the trend (though I think I’d opt more for a lip with gold undertones).

So many looks to choose from! I guess I’ll send all the makeup inspo to my makeup artist so she can get an idea of what I’m looking for and we’ll take it from there.

I absolutely love the last one! Is that Tamara Mowry? :) I think that one would look so beautiful on you.

Lovely!! Tyra looks fab, that’s such a beautiful hairstyle. I just love her in general, so I’m probably a little biased :)

Who will be your make-up artist in Montreal? That is the last thing I have yet to book and I am so afraid to pick the wrong person. I am afraid the person will not know anything about African-American skin. Last year, my mom had a trial for a wedding she was going to attend. It was soooo bad that the make-up artist told her not to pay!

@WinteryRose: I’m going with Katherine Cloutier from Kat et Lea; http://katetlea.com/en

She did my makeup for my engagement shoot back in July and I loved the eyes & lips but the foundation was a little light. She said she would make sure to have my right shade during my next trial (which is next month). I’ll write a post about it!

I have been in love with the Tyra style for a while. I know the wave can be a little tricky, but fingers crossed that your stylist can execute it. I can sooo see you in that…based on Your face shape….also the Tamara one is pretty.
    Good luck!!
