The Airplanes Have Arrived!

Hello, hive! I am so excited to be introducing myself as the newest bee. When I got the email from Mrs. Penguin (in the middle of an absolutely rotten day), I “oh my gosh”ed my way around my office until I found my wits and excitedly called Mr. Plane. Then I told my boss, who just looked at me funny (apparently he doesn’t read Weddingbee?!).

So yeah, I’m a little excited to “bee” here! Oh, I have been waiting so long to use that pun.

Mr. Plane and I live in Michigan, halfway between Ann Arbor and Detroit (which is a good spot for us because we love the restaurants and the sporting events in both towns).

We met while I was going to school at the University of Michigan, and he wrote “I love you” on the whiteboard on my door the day I moved into the dorms—yep, it was love at first write.

I’m still at U of M, finishing my master’s degree while I am working full time in fundraising. Mr. Plane works at a private country club in the area as their food and beverage manager. This means he sees a lot of weddings—A LOT—and has his fair share of opinions about the elements of our own celebration. (I’m sure I’ll be blogging about the Great Flower Debate of 2013 at some point.)

Why the Airplanes? Well, aside from the fact that we love to travel, I was infatuated with the little pink plane icon and, of course, all of the potential puns! Arrival, departure, layover—the possibilities are endless!

Thank you so much for welcoming me to the ‘Bee. I can’t wait to share this adventure with you!
