Mrs. Bacon, Chicago Age and Occupation: 26, Digital Advertising Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, IT Client Services Engagement Date: June 17, 2010 Wedding Date: September 2011 Venue: Ravenswood Billboard Factory About Me: I'm a Midwestern girl that can't seem to commit to staying in one place for too long and is constantly daydreaming about my next adventure. I am an aspiring foodie with a weak spot for the unusual and I love semi-reality food television. My other loves easily include laughing as a form of exercise, a book that I can't put down, summer baseball games, espresso with whipped cream, couch potato days and nights with the ridiculous Mr. Bacon, and our two kitties, Lincoln and Sawyer. We're planning a faux-destination wedding for 150 of our closest friends and family in the city we've both adopted as home that has a modern, yet whimsical twist and as many personal touches as we can manage.
About Mrs. Bacon

With toasts and dinner behind us, it was finally time for the dancing to begin!

To kick it off, the Baconator and I took the stage with Elton John’s Your Song. It took us a long time to agree on a song and this one only rose to the top because it’s a great song that is covered by Obi Won Kenobi Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge. Suddenly, we managed to find another Star Wars connection and the Baconator was super stoked to find our first dance song.

You may notice that we had no choreography…and may not have realized that it’s a four minute long song. Um, that’s a long time to do the “White Boy Shuffle/Two Step” as the Baconator calls it. So we may or may not have twirled around the dance floor with wild abandon, and we may or may not have laughed our way through the last verse…or two…but even with all that silliness, I know that I will get goosebumps every time I hear Your Song for the rest of my life.

I have been looking forward to the Father-Daughter dance since I learned that my parents met when my dad was a ballroom dance instructor. We’ve been dancing the same “routine,” if you will, since I was a little girl and I couldn’t wait to put all that practice to good use at our wedding. When I brought up the dance to my dad, he knew right away that he wanted our dance to be to Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl.

Next up was the Baconator and MIL Bacon with one of her favorites, My Wish by Rascal Flatts. While the hubs hates Rascal Flatts, he gave in to his mom since he knew this song meant so much to her. The photos don’t capture all of the dance steps that they tried out, but rest assured that they got all the way to the chicken dance…

I love that you and Baconator were able to laugh and have fun during such an otherwise emotional (for me, anyway) song. I think that really shows what an awesome couple you are and is maybe kind of indicative of how you both handle life. I love it.

Sap award of the day = Miss Palm Tree. ;)
